What Shawn said. Unless you have an SBA loan number (and subsequent SBA guarantee) an internal loan number from the bank doesn't mean shite.

Thanks everyone. I assumed the internal number wasn’t important except that it was in line it seems. Hoping for the best. Would really help out. Good luck everyone

What is your take on if I have two applications ready to be submitted by 2 different banks? will the first one get accepted and the second one kicked out? Or do I need to discard one?

What nolabnkr said makes sense if you look at my situation and somewhat backs up the statement that HW went in numerical order.
My HW application # was 640, not to be confused with the SBA loan #. I was there, first day, before the bank opened and was still # 640 overall for HW.
If they took in xxxx of applications, mine getting funded makes numerical sense.
Also, search nolabnkr's post history. Everything SHE posted, even while working at 1am, is accurate to my situation.
If I already had an app in ANYWHERE on the 1st round, I wouldn't pull it at this point, just find a 2nd or 3rd bank to apply with. Once you get an SBA loan#, I'm fairly certain the ETran system will deny your next apps and the other bank would just move on.

As soon as the SBA issues an SBA loan number any subsequent applications will be rejected by the system. You don't have to do anything.

First app to get processed will go through, next will get an error and state that an eTran number has already been assigned

Update: after Whitney did nothing for 10 days, last Tuesday we approached first national of Jeanerette. They got us in Wednesday (the next day), then I think funding was cut off Thursday morning.
We found out this afternoon that we will receive deposit tomorrow for our 5 locations.
First national came through big time.

SBA has limited 100 apps per hour, this is slowing things down tremendously. We had planned on having all of our apps in by this time today, maybe a bit later depending on eTran system shut downs. Now, looking at several days

Iberia got my application through and reserved the funds. They beat out Hancock Whitney even though Hancock/Whitney had my completed application since April 3rd and Iberia had my application for only a week. Iberia wins my business.

HW did the same thing, funds reserved for all apps in the system. Unfortunate that your banker did not relay this to you if your app was ready for sba submission

We ended up getting one of two loans approved through Hancock Whitney. Didn’t get a warm fuzzy feeling that loan 2 would go through so applied through citizens b&t yesterday around 3:00 and got email approval yesterday evening around 7:30. Supposed to get calm from local branch today to set up account (we had never banked with citizens before) and funds deposited by tomorrow.
Citizens was very responsive and communicated well. Regions still seems confused....

My boss just let me know that he got approved through Hancock for the PPP and funded ... (I basically did the work)
