I've been holding thousands of TQQQ shares since 2017. What should I beware of? Paying lots of taxes when I sell?

Nasdaq was up 0.2% today. TQQQ was up 2.54%. SQQQ was down 2.55%.
I know that those 3x leveraged etf's aren't always going to be perfect, but wtf ?
Are you under the impression that TQQQ and SQQQ are based on tracking the entire NASDAQ?

They’re not.

I suggest you familiarize yourself with the investment objectives and portfolio makeup of TQQQ and SQQQ.

This ain’t rocket science…

Oh, we're talking about your taking a data point and drawing an incorrect conclusion. I thought we were talking about holding the ETF overnight being a problem (which, is also an incorrect conclusion). I guess it doesn't matter what we're talking about.

If the nasdaq was up .2 then TQQQ should have been up .6, SQQQ should have been down .6
This is incorrect.

The TQQQ and the SQQQ are triple leveraged to reflect the changes in the Nasdaq100 NOT the Nasdaq.

The Nasdaq100 was up today .85%.

So triple-leveraged ETFs would be up or down approximately .85 X 3 = 2.55%.

That they were up/down 2.55 percent today is proof that there are days when they aren't even close to tracking accuratly.

Apparently the Magnificent 7 were selling off and money was pouring into small cap tech.

Rare for the Nasdaq 100 & The Nasdaq performance to vary to such a degree.
Not really.

There are even days when one closes up for the day and the other one closes down.
