Getting Vehicle Title in My Name Post-Divorce

Is there any way to get a vehicle title transferred to my name without the ex wife present? I was awarded a vehicle in property settlement, but getting my flaky ex to appear at a notary office has proven difficult to say the least. It's been nearly 6 months with a lot of last minute cancellations and no-shows. I have the paperwork signed by the judge showing that the truck is now mine.

I know my experience is not exact for your situation but I thought it might help. I recently transferred my deceased's wife title to her car to me. I had to make an appointment with the County Tax Assessor. It had to be in person. I had to fill out a form, bring the Letters of Administration from the court and my ID. I'm not familiar with AP or LA rules but I would think the Divorce decree would act the same as LOA. Good luck.

I think NBR is suggesting that it would be a lot easier if your ex-wife was dead.
Now, if NBR knows a guy who know a guy, even better

Not exactly what I was suggesting but desperate times may call for extreme measures.
Joking aside, just offered an option to avoid the Ex.

You said a mouthful. Co-parenting with an ex who is clinically diagnosed with Bipolar II has been a challenge. It only took me eight years to finalize the divorce, custody, and property settlement.

There’s notary’s that will drive to you fyi. You could have one go to somewhere you know she will be without her knowing your plan.

Not sure. My uncle is a Notary so I had him sign and stamp then sent it to my ex to sign.

Also if you have a lawyer and she does too, have them figure it out. That is why you pay them
