This is pretty common in the semiconductor industry.
Companies set a maximum % of your salary you can contribute.
I always take the max contribution and always sell the day I get the stock.

True. But lucky for me, my purchase is matched at 50% (up to a max value in terms of % of base salary). There is no holding period.
Now I could just turn around on day 1 and sell and make a 50% return. The gains/losses are minimal. Not ideal for long term investing obviously.
