Just let me know if I can do this with my Money Talk peeps.

All talk has been over email by sister in law with dealership.

They have come down so far at $27,100.

They don't know my sister in law asked me to join her on her visit.

I've done the reading of Will Cover post on this and other post by other former car salesmen.

So can we go lower?

Is this thing loaded? My gf just bought a new, well equipped "base" model Edge for under $22k before tt&l.

Just bought a ford Taurus SHO for 37k with 5k miles.
47k brand new.
42k normally with discount.

Also they gave 7k for my 2005 Tacoma with 160k miles.
So actually paying around 30k plus TTL license for it.

But enough about me. I think you're doing alright. They always have a little more room though.

Who in their right mind would pay 50k for a taurus? That's gotta be number one on the all time bad financial decisions list.

But.. But... It's an SHO

I will still say best car decision buying goes to my Parents who bought a Chevy Impala in 1994, and eight years later when it was wrecked only lost $9k of its value.

at $47K for a taurus....a brand new S Class for $100K looks like a steal! In 1995 I was in high school and an S Class was $100k then and a taurus was under $20K....today an S class is $100k and a ford is $50k?!?!?!

I consider getting a 47k car with only 5k miles for 30k winning.

Also I test drove just about anything.
I wasn't going to pay 46-50k for a base audi 6/Beemer 5 with a 210 horsepower 4 cylinder engine.
Test drove the new jag XF, but they start around 50k, with a 4 cylinder engine.

Also the SHO weighs 1,500-2,000 lbs more than those vehicles with vastly more trunk space. That matters to me since I drive, a lot.
Also this car has just about every feature possible. Add those features to any other luxury vehicle and you'll pay well close to 60k, probably more.

Also test drove the avalons, but was not a fan of their engine response. Otherwise, that was my second choice at this point.

My and my wife's first reaction was that it was a "Taurus", but its by no means a Taurus.

Eta: not to mention maintenance cost and regular vs. premium fuel.

Yea. 365 HP. It drives fast.

Also, I think they fudged in my trade. KBB said it was worth 4k, maybe. Also there is some significant repairs to be made. They gave me 7k for it.

Well that would be a mistake. It doesnt top the class in resale value, reliability, orcomfort/sfety/style. C'mon man, it's a ford taurus. Who are you trying to convince that its a good/cool car?

Nobody at all, I dont buy a car for resale value cause i keep them for at least ten years.

And I am extremly happy with it reliablity and its comfort. And everyone who has been in it has been impressed

I bought mine slightly used with 15,000 miles on it for 24,000 so i think it was well worth the buy

I wouldnt buy any vehicle for 35 or 40 thousand unless i had a net worth of at least a million
