Is this done through SPG to Singapore? Let me know as a backup to Korean, thanks.

Also, headed to Greece next year checked out Korean and can do the 50,000 miles RT but it's over $300 in fees per person. Is that normal, do you know a better way to go? The flight isn't going through LHR or anything so not sure why the high fees..

Looked on Alaska and cheapest was 32,500 each way and even higher fees. AA as you know sucks arse.

You can transfer SPG to SQ but no reason to, because all three (TYP, MR and UR) transfer to SQ 1:1. Also, all star alliance flights should be credited to SQ as you earn 100% flown miles as redeemable miles on SQ. Our last flight alone to SE Asia on ANA (UA codeshare) earned us enough for 1 way tix to Hawaii this year.

Korean passes carrier imposed surcharges on award tix. $300 is pretty reasonable. Thats a lot of flying for 50k + $300.

2+ weeks legitimately anywhere in the world that accepts American tourists. If you focused on places that are more exotic than classic (mainland south east Asia over Paris, for example), you could probably manage an entire month.

At the end of this month, the lady and I are taking a trip to Japan for 18 days. If my memory serves me, we booked airfare for two and nine nights at very nice Hyatt hotels for something like 325k points. And Japan is fricking expensive.

My credit card and MS game has switched over the last year. I have been buying and renovating flood homes so my cc apps have been geared more towards that. I would like to do a mini app-o-rama for purchase of supplies and pay subcontractors for the next three months.

My question is, what would you all recommend as far as cards with 0% APR for purchases and any kind of "decent" sign up bonus.

Unless you want to deal with the aggravation of buying gift cards at office supply stores (which I'd highly recommend, but it's still an aggravation), I'd be tempted to just blow out a Chase Freedom Unlimited. $150 sign up bonus, 1.5 points on everything, and 15 months interest free.

I have no chance with Chase on 5/24 cards or I would. I guess I was mainly looking for more obscure cards that may be out there. I may try a Wells Fargo, local bank, and another.

If you're already struggling with 5/24, I might consider one of the Amex business cards, like Kop mentioned. Last I heard, they didn't count towards your 5/24 tally.

How is Amex with VGC at the Depot?

I just got back from Tokyo (stayed at Hyatt Regency and upgraded to Club room). I don't think I saw a single piece of trash.

They don't. I'm confused as to what cmslu is looking for because those two options I gave seem to perfectly satisfy his needs.

I've been going the Paypal route to fill up Amazon and earn 5x points with my Ink. A bit PITA with Paypal denying processing from time to time, but the delays match my spending pattern so no big deal.

So that ends that headache for me as I was slipping on going to Office Depot/Staples, etc.

The AMEX options are the type I'm looking for...I'll probably get one of those but looking for a few more. The chase cards are a nogo for me due to already being over 5/24.

Sweet. I don't want to give up SPG points if I don't have to
What's your favorite way to search SQ avail?

You mean they didn't have these before or it's just for international? I just flew to LAX on it and it was $11.20 RT for 911. But yes, 50k is a good deal. Flying in/out of Hawaii really screws us with UA and AA and even AS sometimes. Shitty AA is 40,000 one way + $200 to ATH. Between wifey and I we have 180k AA miles left so thinking of some good trip we can take with them to Asia/Pacific. I think you and Teddy mentioned CP so may look into them. Any ideas you like with AA and 180k miles?

Details on this? I really want to keep my Ink+ and not downgrade to Cash but I need to get more MS going on.

SQ Econ availability will show up on UA and ANA. But the only place to search for premium cabin availability on SQ is their own website.

That is because Delta does not have any fuel surcharges to pass on. Like you mentioned, the $5.60 per way is just the 9/11 fees.

Again, I dont think this is bad at all. In fact this is one of the best uses of AA miles. AA does not pass on any fuel surcharges except on ba. So that $200 is the least you'll pay anywhere which are due to airport departure fees/YR which is usually higher in Europe.

Other uses could be 76K RT to South Pacific (on HA, JL, QF). 66K to Japan and back on JL.

Good option in case the KA trick doesn't work for dates I want.

Yeah, this one way is going through LHR on BA so I guess that's the fees. Anytime I search with AA to Europe it always seems to try to go through LHR.

Thanks, those are good #s for SP. We plan on going to Japan again. I remember you could do 50k RT econ not that long ago but it might be a good use of them anyway to burn. I'll be dropping our Red Aviator cards unless they waive the fee again, which they've done for the last 3 years.

I would like to fly CP again so I need to look into that stuff. We plan on doing Bora Bora in the next couple years so maybe use SPG for the OW bungalow and miles to get there.
