Posted by Teddy Ruxpin Looks like a winner at the OTR here. Could only do one since the cashier was having trouble but I'll take it and go back. Great find, nice work. Thanks
I will be trying some OTR's this weekend...hope to have some luck. Just opened some additional bluebirds so I can take advantage of the $5K monthly limit on each one.

Can someone fill me in on what an OTR and bluebird is?

Ah ok, we don't have those here in NC.
Are Vanilla reloads to bluebird worth the extra time and hassle? Aren't you getting hit with fees?

It depends on the card terms, bonus categories, etc. I think it's definitely worth it to simply meet minimum spends for bonuses and mortgages, etc.

I buy most of my groceries from Sam's Club, but may stop IOT take advantage of points.
Is there any way around using a debit card at Sams?

Yep. If you have a VR retailer close to you it doesn't have to be much of a hassle. It was work figuring everything out initially(what to do, where to find, how much etc..), but it's pretty seamless now.

I went to HEB last night and didn't see any VR but they had something called netspend that looked like the same thing. I didn't pull the trigger because I'm not sure on that yet.
We have OTR's all over the place here in Houston. I'll be stopping at one or multiples over the weekend looking for VR's.

Sam's takes Mastercards.
I think Discover too
The way around it is to go to walmart and buy giftcards and use them at sams

Not sure if this will help anyone, but just found this on VR's site of "where to buy" and thought it might be of use.

Remember though, most cards don't count Sams/walmart/costco towards grocery bonus categories...it would simply be the 1x purchases.

We have BoA World MC Rewards. Use it for almost every purchase. Builds up fast. We just "cashed" in almost $1k in "cash" cards.

I know my PRG card specifically tells you that they do not qualify.

I do not do this but I believe the problem is not finding VR's but finding somewhere that allows you to purchase them with credit cards

The problem is that many don't accept CCs, and not all stores stock the VR, and even the ones that do sometimes have a hard time stocking them. Because they probably have others in the area doing the same thing.
7-11 and CVS are the main ones that accept CCs and 7-11s are hit and miss too now.
