May want to look at taking the Delta Reserve and downgrading it to the DL Platinum.
Would still give you free bags and a companion certificate each year. Which is worth the $195 fee each year if you take one trip with someone

Can you see that? Not showing on my screen.
Anyways, there's a "view available dates" when you go to the rates screen.

Sweet, I'll check it out. Would love to pay for a flight and have a free 4-5 night stay over there with the wife next week.
ETA: Any differences between the properties over there? Are all very nice and the Thalasso is just the nicest?

Just got an email that USAir and American begin combining the programs on March 28. If you've been thinking about the USAir card your window may be closing very quickly.

quote:They are all nice. Thalasso is just the nicest, but it's also the most secluded. Le Moana is on the main island, so you have more easily accessible dinner options as well.

IC Moorea is a short flight from Tahiti as well. Usually offers much better availability but it's not quite to the level of the Bora Bora resorts. Moorea has more land activities as Bora Bora is all about the beach. If you go all that way, you want to go to Bora Bora for at least a couple nights though.

Moorea is a really short flight. I think it's 12 miles.
True story. Flew from Papeete to Moorea and as the plane was taxiing to a stop the pilot opened his door and hopped out while the plane was still moving. The passengers (four of us) gave each other a serious WTF? look.

When the "spirit of the island" is not cool.

I'll have to keep an eye on that. I'm not seeing any available dates to use reward points unless I'm doing something wrong

Just ran it and I'm still showing rooms. Strange.
My steps:
1. I google IHG Bora Bora.
2. Click on Thalasso link
3. Click View rooms and rates
4. Enter 2/15/16-2/20/16
5. Click View rates on Emerald Overwater Villa
6. Click View Available dates.

Fro, just curious.
I suppose order of operations for this destination is basically
Find flight dates, then same day, try to align hotels. Keep moving dates until they align.
It seems kind of stressful. Or is it, get flights first, then keep pecking away at hotel over time?
Or reverse?

Air Tahiti Nui is pretty consistent with 2 biz class/4-6 coach seats per flight, so as long as you're mildly flexible you can make the flights work by extending a vacation on either end to make it work. Biz class go almost immediately, but certain dates will have coach lingering for months sometimes.
Like I said, you can always add a night in Tahiti or Moorea and there's absolutely no harm and I'd actually recommend trying to do it if you have the time.
My advice would be to snag the room which I think they release about 345 days out or whatever and I would book 1 room each day the calendar releases and then just email the hotel and have them consolidate the booking.
Once I had at least 3-5 nights in a row or whatever I was aiming for at Thalasso, I'd get the flights booked and then add a couple nights at one of the other hotels or hop islands if need be. They have two Intercontinental's, a Hilton, and a Westin.

Yep. I meant to type SPG then, then typed westin, but it's actually a st Regis
I believe it's one of the select SPG properties that aren't bound by the charts and cost an exorbitant amount of points.

Anybody got an Expedia $50 off $200 hotel code they aren't using? Offer came through email. I used mine and apparently it's only valid once.
