Taking mine on Sept 28th. Took the practice Exam on the CFP website and passed. Anyone else sitting for it? Using Dalton and their practice exams were tough. Hoping the actual one is somewhat easier. Any CFP pros with some exam tips?

You need the CFA if you want to be a BSD.

Shepherd88 and Banker how much time needed to study for CFP after finishing classes? I'm trying to finish Estate Planning this month.

Have you completed your capstone? I assume you’re preparing for the March exam? If so you’ll have plenty of time to take it easy and soak it all in.

I was studying 5 hours a day 5 days a week for the final 2 months just for reference though. This questions get a lot more difficult at this level.

Is preparing for the CFP test totally different than the different class test?

Absolutely.

When you complete your education requirement you’ll go into the review and the first thing you’ll do is be completely humbled by the “review readiness quiz” in which your expectations are to score between 30-40%.

You’ll have plenty of time between now and March to be prepared but during the review your goal is to learn a little more each week. Take your time and actually learn it bc this is not a test you can pass by just memorizing stuff. Do not put this off until the new year though as you’ll regret it.
