No more deployments. I'm in an under manned career field and was fortunate to be eligible for a program that came with the caveat of no non-voluntary deployments for an additional 3 years of service. Otherwise, I would have had to call it quits. I just can't justify more deployments (and the constant uncertainty of when the next one will drop) with young kids at home now that I'm retirement eligible.

Sure hope you're right, things in the Army are true until they aren't. I know a guy who got a gig teaching at CGSC, best job in the world...but they were short students so the excess instructors went on 12 month WIAS to Afghanistan.

You're good to retire, I wouldn't drag it out.
