1099 Independent Contractor, Commission Only plus Stock Options. CPG sales startup questio
As title says. I'm going to be doing some sidework for a startup trying to gain retail accounts and new distributor networks for them. The pay will just be 1099 commission based off of a percentage of revenue I or the DSD network generates. Should I use a LLC for my pay? Do I need to let them know I'm using an LLC? Any suggestions for me? I am experienced in CPG sales but this is my first 1099 gig. Any help is appreciated

Creating an llc isn't necessary unless your carrying risk exposure. If so a good BOP with high liability limit could be used.

Normally I'm kinda meh on having an LLC in these situations. Not really an upside or a downside.

However, stock options? Not sure how having the LLC "bill" the company would impact stock option grants.

I think I'd keep this one out of an LLC.
