What assumptions are you making about growth?
i assumed 8% return and 5mm of today's dollars by 2047.
A 4% annual withdrawal on 5mm would be 200k
After adjusting for inflation (assuming 3% annually) 200k today = 73.2k in 2047
Break even or not the ms won't be sitting on her arse all day watching soap operas while I'm at work. If nothing else I'll need it for the 401k match & tax deductible savings

I just wrote it all out and if you include expected home equity and some stock awards from my company (admittedly volitile right now), I'm looking to break 200 in the next few months and I'm about 8 months away from turning 30! . Feels good, but I'll also admit that the money isnt all in the right places. Too much in 401k and not enough in Roth. Too much in home equity. And the stock awards arent fully released for 5 years. I need to work harder on easily liquifiable savings.

If that holds (and good luck), then $2,100 per month for 32 years, at 8% (starting with $100k now) will put you just over $5 million.
And, that would be liquid - not counting your house and whatnot.
