Zone defense

How come we don’t play more zone defense?

When Wade says he’s exhausted all options he’s not telling the truth. He’s actually done pretty much the same thing all year long and refuses to change, that’s the problem.

They do and then the other team passes the ball around 2-3 times and we leave somebody open for a 3 that he makes. Then we stop playing zone.

What else would you suggest he try on defense? We’re bad at everything I can think of

If you think our 3pt defense is bad now, I couldn’t even imagine what it would be like playing zone. It would hurt rebounding as well which is a strong area for us

How about not leaving shooters wide open? How about instead of worrying about what we can’t do excel at what we can do. There’s no reason to keep doing the same thing that isn’t working. If you can’t defend inside because of size let somebody expose you first before you panic over it. You can always double the post and hedge to help instead of just leaving the shooters completely.

Btw the press doesn’t work because he has our guys sitting back instead of pressuring the ball handler. Anybody who’s ever run a press knows you can’t let the ball handler stop and look you have to pressure him.

Dude.. you’re spouting off stupid shite in this thread and I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. This team isn’t good at any aspect of defense. I can’t think of anything that hasn’t been tried that didn’t get thoroughly abused besides our 1-3-1 in some instances

I’m just asking the strategy behind not throwing out the zone every now and then.

They do play zone from time to time. They literally played it tonight for stretches. It wasn’t any better than the man to man trash.
