When Dale Brown announced his retirement. I'd always dreamed of playing for him, and his retirement, coupled with my having sucked at basketball my entire life, killed that dream.

I've always dreamed of going Sasquatch hunting with Dale. Oh well, I hear ya.

Aside from the loss of young LSU players lives, I'd say it's a tie:
1) Loss to USC in late 70's to USC...most thrilling game I ever saw at Tiger Stadium and LSU was a huge underdog and totally outplayed the "studs". The entire LSU crowd was chanting inside and outside the stadium for at least an hour later despite the loss.
2) Loss to Arky in 2007 in OT which coulda/woulda/shoulda cost us the right to go to the NC Game in New Orleans.

I'm a "frat boy" and I'm also no "social frick," I can assure you. Neither are my friends who stay to the end of every single game regardless of the score.
Thanks for the generalization though.

Losing to Ole Miss on Oct. 18, 1997 (my 13th birthday) the week after we beat No. 1 Florida.

Not sure if its the saddest moment, but when LSU lost to Arkansas in 2007, that was rough. I was in SoCal visiting some friends and we went out to a sports bar. Needless to say the highlights were all over the place!!! To make matters worse, I had to be sober because I was driving that night!!!

while i apologize for generalizing in my previous statement, the main point i was trying to make was that so many LSU fans left in the 2nd half when LSU was leading 21-0 over UT. Then UT came back to win in overtime. While im sure not ALL frat boys left that game, and im sure not ALL non-greeks stayed at the game, i was just overall dissapointed in how many LSU "fans" left that game thinking we had it won because it was a "school night"

After the 2007 Arkansas game when I thought our National Championship dream was over.

Our 06 Loss to Auburn. I am still furious over that loss because I feel that we would have three crystal balls right now(we were that freaking good)!

Your saddest moment as a Tiger fan....
When I received word of the death of Don Redden, a good friend of mine, and a true Tiger, thru and thru.

I was there for that one. A cold, wet, nasty-arse day in one suckhole of a stadium.

Tim Federowicz's grand slam off of Louis Coleman last year. My heart dropped as soon as he swung. It will make this year that much more sweet.
