re: Your Ideal 2014 Offense

I want to throw 4 receivers out wide and try and spread out the defense. If they stack the box, go quick screens outside with the occasional deep ball to catch them off guard. If the defense stays flexed out to properly guard to perimeter, give them a heavy dose of #Bugga, Magee, and Hilliard.
Whichever QB throws the best screen pass should play. I don't care about the rest.
Simple is sweet.

Same style as last year, less worry about the deep bombs and more worry about the third and fourth receivers.
Personnel I don't care so much, all three QBs have the talent to perform competently or better, our stable of RBs is as good as ever and I trust the coaches to figure out the best set of receivers. The selfish fan in me wants to see 55-60% of our plays be passes because a passing game is more exciting to me than a running game, but realistically it'll probably be the other way (55-60% runs).
One other thing -- don't be afraid to let the hot hand have the ball! Not from a performance standpoint so much, we were fine about this last year, but just again as a fan, I want to see the guy kicking arse on big runs.

I love that I get blasted because I have an OPINION. Really what makes AJ qualified? He played one possession and a sloppy bowl game. I understand he has the most "experience". All I'm saying is that I like Rettig. Not saying he'll start. I believe that AJ will start.
I like big pro-style QBs. Rettig is that. That's what he was recruited out of high school to be. Whether or not he starts is irrelevant. If AJ or BH turn out to be the next Mett or whatever, I'm happy. I want to win football games. I loved the offense from last year. It reminds me of the 07 squad.
I'm tired of everyone running around screaming about people who support BH or Rettig. You tell me how AJ is more qualified. AJ went into last year as the third string and worked his way to second string. It's entirely possible someone overtakes him.
As far as runningback carries and percentages, I think it'll start out with Magee and Hilliard and LF will explode and get more carries. They're going to be "thin" in terms of LSU running backs and they'll want to spread the carries out to keep RB fresh.
At the end of the day..

What makes your post stupid is the fact that you said you didn't like AJ even before his game against Arkansas, so you aren't basing it on his subpar performance in the bowl game. I have a feeling I know what you are basing it on.

My ideal offense for 2014 would be similar to 2011. Effective power run game with a very strong defense. The only change would be Jennings or Harris having the ability to stretch the field if need be to prevent the better defensive teams from stacking the box.

Personally, there is nothing more satisfying than watching a running game demoralize a defense, while the opponent's offense sits on on the sideline and watches the time tick tick tick away.
I love it. Some like a high octane passing game, I like a solid running game with a smothering defense.

Look, if CC develops AJ to be a consistent QB, put him in there. Please. I want to win football games. I hate his drop back, I hate his progression. BUT he's young so all of that is fixable. I'm open-minded to any option. I cannot be more happy that we have three QBs that can be put into this system. I love our coaching staff.
There are actual reasons for why I don't like AJ which two were mentioned above. I want a big, tall pocket passer. It's my ideal offense. I don't care about a "mobile" qb. As long as he's not a statue and can at least move in the pocket. He doesn't have to run off for the first down. I don't like that style. That's just my style.
Just reload the personnel and run the same offense and I'll be happy.

Neither Brandon Harris or Anthony Jennings are "mobile" QBs if by mobile you mean running. They can allude blitzers, but by no means are they running QBs. Sounds like you don't really know the personnel either.

I like that plan. AJ or Harris keeping the D's honest combined with a power run game behind what should be a really solid o-line. Neighbors leading the way for Fournette. Plenty of talent at WR to choose from. Getting the TE's more involved in the passing game also. A steady dose of Fournette combined with an effective pass game and a mobile QB who can take off if the pocket breaks down.

Hayden Rettig . . . . 6-3 . 205
Jake Clise . . . . . . .6-2 . 202
Brandon Harris . . . .6-2 . 184
Brad Kragthorpe . . .6-0 . 177
Not much difference in height or weight among the big three.
All are big, tall pocket passers.
