If we say our schedule is hard and therefore 8 wins this year = 9 wins in "normal" year... then we have to say the schedule was weak last year so 9 wins = 7 wins in a "normal" year.

I feel the same way about using injuries as an excuse. If you goto years past you will find games that LSU won or lost against another team with injuries like Florida in '16. Then, have to adjust for that as well. It just starts an endless rabbit hole. As you said, just win.

Again, we had to rebuild DL depth and started 2 true freshman in the OL.

We have less proven depth now than we did when he took over or last year and O had to start young guys on the OL because he ran off half a dozen guys in his interim year (yeah that year counts there huh?).

How does he keep getting extra time for things that HE fricked up and turned into rebuild (third OC he’s hired).

Now we are completely changing the offense as well to move it into the modern age. If you think these are minor tweaks...I'm not sure what else to tell you other than you clearly don't understand football and these things don't get fixed overnight. Does anyone expect a perfectly smooth transition in the offense with everything changing we have?

Since you dodged my question the first time, does that mean you think Miles would have been given a reset had he fired Cam and changed the offense the way everyone claims he promised to in 16? Would that have made him immune from being judged or fired that year?

As far as 2016 goes, the guy was on damage control for half a year...not exactly implementing things as we had no idea who he the coach would be till the end of the season....so again, no it was not his first season as HC....it was merely limping to the finish line and trying to keep things together to what extent he was able to. That's the point of an interim coach...

Oh frick off

We were the #6 preseason team (you LOVE preseason rankings right?) an lost two last second road games to teams that were in the top 10 most of the year.

O wasn’t “limping to the finish line” he was promoted to keep our championship hopes alive, which he failed to do. He couldn’t even secure the Sugar Bowl at home against a decimated Florida team that was actually “limping to the finish line”.

That was his first failure.

Last year was his second.

Three strikes and all that....

And you still dodged my question about whether or not the specific games can be used to evaluate his in game coaching and prep.

So interim coaching is not the same as full time program builder/manager??

Why did we hear so much about his USC and LSU interim work when he was hired?? Especially since this had so much rebuilding that needed to be done. Specifically on the OFFENSE, not exactly the DL coach’s forte would you agree??

I’ve honestly lost a lot of respect for your posting in this thread. No clue why you’re being so hard headed about this after you’ve been handed your arse over and over on this topic.

And Auburn on the road, should we suddenly definitely win every home game or something

I'd trade our full schedule for Alabama's in a heartbeat. They play Missouri and Tennessee from the East

Alabama's being easy doesn't make lsu's overly difficult. This year we have a normal SEC West schedule. It's not some killer like some are saying. It's tougher than Alabama's for sure. It's not as tough as auburn's or tamu's. Quit acting like it's the toughest schedule in the country. It's not.

do you disagree that LSU had 8 players drafted and another 8 sign as UDFA?

I didnt say LSU would be terrible in 2017, but only a fool would think they would compete for a title last year. which is probably why O said they would.
