Elite era was over long time ago . Also, the we play in SEC west gauntlet so 3 losses is not mediocre excuse is now irrelevant. The SEC dominance has been over and it will get worse.

We've only played in one 'elite' bowl game in the last 8 years (BCS and now NY6). We have elite talent (look at the NFL and recruiting rankings), just not elite results.

You do realize if you look at total wins as a football program before this year; then LSU would be about 15-16th best All-Time?
So, either your definition of "elite" is skewed or LSU has NEVER been an "elite" program.
I tend to agree with the latter. Although very good; we have never been elite; and I think this is the main divide amongst fans.

Next year will be the indicator of what kinda program we will be. Possible #1 recruting class, basically all our best players in their Junior year.
