No you are not. And it is not even close if you look at history
LSU is actually ranked ahead of UT in all-time rankings. And LSU has been more successful recently.

tn has a better history, but LSU is the better job right now. too much out of state recruitign needed to win at tn.

Nebraska is in the same position as Tennessee is, as far as needing to recruit nationally because of a weak in-state recruiting base.
Yet not only did the Cornhuskers finish the season more highly ranked than our beloved Tigers did, they had one more win, played for their conference championship, and won their bowl game in dominating fashion.
And they did it with very few players who would have been recruited to LSU, much less started. So much for LSU's advantages.
If you build a good program, they will come. Nebraska is living proof of that now. The Cornhuskers will enter 2010 ranked higher nationally and will probably be the favorite to win their conference.
My point is, don't dismiss Tennessee's chances either. If Dooley can both recruit well and coach well, Tennessee may surprise quite a few posters here. Don't automatically dismiss the Vol's chances of beating LSU next year. I suspect that will be a very tough game.
I would agree though that with the right head coach, LSU is a top five job. I'm hoping we can prove that once again next year, and not have to go through what USC and Tennessee went through in looking for another head coach.

.....Sat at the Tech game thinking Dooley would whip the shite out of Tech worse if the heads on the side of the field were reversed. Pelini 1st, or Muschamp would be great, but Dooley could be very successful here too. I think he's got it.

we are no where close to the same position. we have tremendous talent coming in we just need to develop it....also kiffin just walked out with 3 weeks to go and their incoming class is falling apart..would be very challenging to come in and save that class...we will be filled with talent for the new coach to come in and take over...
