re: Worst OOC Schedule in the SEC - IMO

OOC schedule isn't great this year, but you can't say that LSU is scared to schedule tougher OOC opponents.
Va. Tech came down for a reality check last year.
- Tigers travel to Washington in 2009
- Have two TBA games for 2010, hopefully they'll get one stout opponent.
- One TBA in 2001, needs to be a good match up.
- Washington comes to Death Valley in 2012
Texas schools don't like to schedule LSU because it messes up their recruiting efforts. Don't like giving the Tigers any extra exposure in their own backyard.
I think universities know that the fans don't like it when you raise season ticket prices and then trot out a bunch of weaker opponents.
At least one OOC game should be a nice match-up. Works well for the team, univ. and the fans.

I'm not saying they won't schedule big names, but they had some TBAs to fill this season too. Hey Rodman, if you're really going to give away some tickets, I'll take two for Troy for me and the wife.

SEC schedule is hard enough imo

I have season tix and I will give away my tix to App St, Troy, North texas and Tulane.
So do you want me to send you my address and you can just mail them directly to me or would you rather me come pick em' up?

Again, it isn't harder for LSU than it is for any other SEC team. Without the VT game last year LSU doesn't win the national title.

As a fan, my hope would be that they put a game on there that's worth the money.
I understand that getting into the home & home negotiations can be tough, but hopefully they'll put a nice draw on those schedules.

Yeah, it does suck, but they tried to get someone to play us, nobody wanted to travel down here and get their arse kicked.
I like how last year when Ohio State's OOC sucked, nobody would let it go. It was pretty much all anybody talked about.
Yet, when LSU has a bad OOC schedule, it's because nobody was man enough to schedule LSU...

How can I contact you when they come in?

baby steps? they will be in front of 92000 anyway. i dont see why u would want to play a top 25 to break in your new qb. app state will be a big enough first game.

You are correct sir! This year's OOC schedule BLOWS!!

Hey CPA, just keep Chaz healthy till we see him--don't worry about anything except when you see LSU>

I'm not sure, but I think this was the year we were supposed to play Arizona State, but that all got shuffled around during the Katrina ordeal. Although it might have been 09...
Appy State did finish the Sagarin ratings last year at 44, which is the highest of our OOC opponents. In addition, I like the fact that the defense will get to go up against Edwards for experience.

If college football fans haven't become so unrealistic then you would see better OOC matchups. Even after winning the NC last year, if LSU loses 4 games this year, there will be people saying that they wished Miles would have left for Michigan. LSU is having to break in a brand new QB (or two or three) but fans don't care. If LSU lost a season opener to a middle of the pack BCS team (like Oregon St) then the talk radio and internet would be filled with negativity from the same yahoos whining about needing a tougher schedule.
Even with the week OOC schedule this year, if LSU goes undeated or is a one loss SEC champ, they will have a good shot at the national title. This is not the year to be asking for a tough OOC.

ok look we know our ooc schedule sucks but its not the fans fault. we want big games just as bad as everyone else. but their is nothing weee can do about it. tougher teams might have backed out on us who knows. but we are pissed. although appy state is a good pickup imo

I think the fact that every other SEC school plays at least one good OOC game and LSU doesnt is what people dont understand. Why doesnt anyone else have a problem getting decent teams to play?

someone didnt do their job. and even so, when u think about it, it only hurts lsu in terms of sales and media.

Frank Beamer personally mailed a DVD of last year's whoopin' to every other head coach at a BCS school. The package included a three-word note: "Don't do it."

I really don't get why people dislike "easy" non conference games. To me, they're the most fun to watch. They don't have the atmosphere, true, but I like watching the Tigers blow someone out. Why wouldn't you?
