Even if it is, telling a coach NOT to hire a specific coach is different than telling TO hire a specific coach.

I agree and that's why I said they were different circumstances. But the precedent of having the Board or an AD telling the head coach to make a decision regarding an assistant exists.

And I said I don't believe that happened. My comments were hypothetically if it was true.

Because people incorrectly made assumptions as to his staff makeup?

The Randy Livingston I remember was smart, tough and gritty. Not the best shooter in the world.

OK, maybe top 5.

left LSU in a huff during the middle of his soph yr.

considering how badly the lsu coaching/medical staff fcked him over by rushing him back on the court too soon (or allowing him to do so if it was by his own urging), i wouldn't blame him one bit if he indeed "left in a huff"

and as far as having not lived in LA for over a decade, that point is a non-issue when you're talking about a living legend in the LA HS basketball community

A bunch of you idiots, the ones being hyper reactionary and hypercritical about 4th hand Internet info that likely has no validity, need to step away from the keyboard. It is usually pretty entertaining observing how eager the tigerdropping masses are to pick up their pitchforks, engage themselves in groupthink, and run with storylines that they have absolutely no certainty are true. But it has become insufferable lately.

Nb4 BBQ buddies, cronies, collis temple reference blah blah. Before td.com I didn't know how many people were eating cheering with piss in them every morning.

Poster #1: "I heard Johnny Jones was going to hire Pokie Chatman as his assistant."

Poster #2: "Typical LSU, hiring lesbians to coach men's basketball. Alleva and Johnny should both be fired over this."

Poster #3: "How did Alleva allow this? Or was he forced into it?"

Poster #4: "We are going to be the joke of the SEC, with a lesbian on our men's basketball staff. I will not renew my season tickets that I never had and will continue not going to games that I never went to in the first place."

LSU press release: "LSU hires Stud McStudly as basketball assistant coach."

Rant: "Crickets."
