How does this affect coaching decisions? No way we can have a coach in place before the early signing period and I can’t see kids committing to an interim coach. Which makes me think, we probably have to stay with O, let him do his decent job of recruiting and then make any change (if there is one) after the season.

No point, players can transfer so easily now, might as well be forthcoming and make the change as soon as possible. If the next hire is good, the recruiting will take care of itself.
