That was the past. After the last 2 years in the SEC I am very interested to see LSU's future. Next year is going to tell a lot.
WTF is with your logic - the PAST!!!
In the same last 2 years we played OSU for the fricking national title
and we beat a highly ranked Georgia tech like a dominatrix hooker hired for spanking.
This year we are playing Penn State (who is also ranked) - Next year will never tell anything for a lot of you guys because it is never going to come - it is always going to be next year and then the next year.

What were the ranks of LSUs 5 opponents?
Miami
ND
OSU
GT
Penn ST
I'm pretty sure they were all top 10 except penn st.
Miami was 10th
ND was 11th
OSU was 1st
GT was ??
Penn State is 12th/13th
Two (one barely) were top 10.

Name the so called unforgivable coaching mistakes Miles made this year.
The end of the Ole Miss game. Absolutely inexcusable. No good coach could have done that.

Why don't you tell us how many BCS bowl games Miles has won and how many active coaches have a better BCS bowl winning percentage.
Judging by your comments, "mediocre bowl game", it should be easy for you to do.

Doesn't. But he is winning.....and you still complain...stupid....

Our bowl opponents this decade have been great. I know it will never happen, but it would be fun to play USC or Oregon. I wish the SEC had a bowl tie in with the Pac 10.
this.
living on the west coast and listening to the USC diatribe here makes me want to
i'd love to see LSU and USC play every couple years.

Like USC or not, but 7 BCS bowl appearances with 6 wins since 03 speaks mighty well for their football program. imo

Sure, if you think beating up on other Pac 10 teams for the past 7 years has been anything more than mental masturbation.
I'm not saying Pete and his organization have not had a legit program, but I am saying that having a winning season for the past 7 years in the Pac 10 is like claiming you have "game" after you paid for a Tijuana hooker. Maybe you do and maybe you don't, but unless you play a schedule that has you fighting against other highly ranked teams on a weekly basis then stroke yourself in the shower where I don't have to listen to you telling yourself how wonderful you are.
I guess technically my issue is more with the BCS/ESPN and their fans than the actual program. My gripes really have nothing to do with the program itself. It's not their fault the rest of the Pac 10 has sucked monkey nuts until recently.
Having said all that, I think they will beat Boston in the Whatever Bowl they made it to.

We've played 2 top 10 teams in 5 bowls. We played:
tOSU who was #1 (but all new they weren't legit #1)
Miami #10 (gave up before that game and it was obvious)
Other than that, we played a #11 (way over-rated) ND team.
GaTech was #14 and from the freaking ACC
PSU is 12th and from a horrid Big Ten.
The fact is we've basically made our Miles Bowl Annual beatdown against 2 of the two worst BCS conferences and Notre Sucking Dame.
We've dominated and have to give credit to Miles for having them prepared, but let's not look at this like we're dominating great teams.

Well, if you think winning bowl games against ranked teams or just winning them at all is an easy thing to do, how come LSU was only 17-17-1 before Miles took over and the "great one" was only 3-2 while at LSU?
I find it interesting/telling that some supposed LSU fans are so eager to discredit an LSU coach that they are even willing to try and diminish bowl wins including the BCS championship game, but each to our own.

First off, you need to read what people post completely before jumping to conclusions.
I'll answer your attacks anyhow:
1) LSU has generally played very tough matchups in their bowl games.
2) Saban lost one bowl game to UT in which LSU was well undermatched in 2002. We had Randall at QB, and he was freaking hurt. Rick Clausen was his backup, and UT was loaded that year.
3) Saban lost his other bowl game to Iowa in his last game when it was obvious he didn't care. People make way too big of a deal about that game.
4) In all of Miles' bowl games, LSU has been overwhelmingly the more talented team with MAYBE the exception of the 2005 bowl game. In that game Miami didn't seem to care early in the game.
5) I'd say LSU had a hell of a tougher opponent in 2003 (OU) than they did in 2007 (tOSU). 2003 OU would have murdered the 2007 tOSU team by 30+ points likely.
Miles has done a great job of getting his teams ready these past 4 seasons for bowl games. Only once has that bowl game actually been meaningful (2007). Every other year it was a glorified exhibition that means very little outside of BS post-season rankings.

so only the BCSNC game counts in bowl wins or is meaningful?

Just like they murdered Kansas that year.
