And if he wasn't, they shouldn't have played JJ at all.
If we don't see the occasional relief package with JJ for this game, I will be pissed at the coaching staff for wasting a year of eligibility with JJ and decimating a Matt Flynn senior year style opportunity for him down the road.

You say that now but in a couple of years (if not next year) you will be begging to see Sheppard/Garrett, so in the end I don't think it matters much.

Please explain. If we were afraid to let him throw against Tulane with an 18 point cushion, how the hell do we expect to play him against the #1 team in the nation.
