If your team has a deficiency in a certain area, you go hire a coach that specializes in that area. Go find the best defensive coach available.

Same principal. You can apply it to any team sport.

Love all the know it all coaches in tRant after a b-ball loss

it doesn't work like that in basketball... you can only call defensive sets at really slow points in the game, stoppage of play, or if you have an on court player calling coverages which is rare in college. When a team goes on a run the coach can't just yell zone or make a hand signal and they make a shift. Just like in today's game wade didn't call a time out to end the game. He didn't want to give auburn the advantage of calling a defense he wanted the defense to have to act without being told.. basketball is about flows and runs. Once you grasp that strategy is much easier to understand

Dude yeah that was shitty of them but you guys need to get over it. Bottom line if you look at it from a distance Joe alleva didn't cause anything. He may have overreacted and messed up some potential players coming here but at the end of the day he's never put in that situation if Wade is a little more careful. I know no one will believe me when I say i'm a wade supporter and i don't like alleva but it's not like alleva started a witchhunt and created evidence. It was put on his doorstep and he reacted (albeit overreacted) but its just cause and effect. The cause.. Wade.. long may he reign.

You do know that even successful coaches make a lot of mistakes. And it was painfully obvious to everyone watching today that LSU played the wrong type of defense on those high ball screens that freed up Auburn's shooters for uncontested 3's. And it lost us the game.
Just because a guy is our coach doesn't mean he's infallible. Some very successful coaches are bad x and o guys. It's ok to admit that.
