I beg to differ. Prior to intergration most of your good black athletes went to schools like Southern, Grambling, and other HBCUs; they weren't allowed to play at schools like LSU, etc. I'm not saying Southern would have won, but it wouldn't be a blow-out like it would today.

If LSU would've played Grambling back in the 70's they would've gotten stompped. Grambling teams back then were unreal.

Meh, but I agree that GSU would've put the wood to LSU (and other such schools) from the '40's through most of the '60's. Once good black athletes started getting opportunities at the "big" schools, Grambling's fate was sealed.
