re: Will Jordan Jefferson be one of LSU great QBs?

Jefferson showed the potential to be very good when he got his shot. A lot of people hate to say it, but Lee did too. I'm not going to try and add my two cents to that discussion, so I'm going to end that there.
The thing I liked most about Jefferson when watching him was besides his measurables(tall, rocket arm, etc) was his ability to check off the reciever as a true freshman. Whether designed or not, that's not seen too often. I like to think it's on purpose that he also seems to have a knack for putting the ball in the perfect spot in respect to the reciever having a chance and the DB not having a shot. (The Ole Miss Toliver TD, the Dickson TD against Arky, The Chris Mitchell pass on the first drive against GT).
However, if he's going to become one of LSU's great QB's, as he certainly can, he definately needs to improve in aspects. His mechanics last season definately needed some work. If hes going to become one of LSU's great QB's, it's not going to simply happen after next year. The most improvement I'd like to see next season is his improvement on the short screen routes. The recieving corp next year has a lot of potential with YAC ability with Toliver as a guy in the main rotation, Randle, and possibly even Shepard. It looked to me with Jefferson's long release and I guess general timing, the screen plays were a bust. If you look back to 07, a huge part of the offense was screens. I think if Jefferson can give the reciever a chance to make a play on those routes, the offense will be given an entire other dimension and allow Jefferson's other abilities to shine.

Jefferson has all the tools in world, he also has ability to start as a second year player. 3 years to be the starter at LSU he can get into the discussion of great QB's. He needs to improve which is same of every QB in nation.

I completely agree. I was simply pointing out the area which I thought would most improve the offense and thus him, his accomplishments, legacy,etc..

This thread turned from Jefferson being a great LSU QB a long time ago

Reading through twenty-one pages of Lee/Jefferson drivel seems a bit condescending at this point in the offseason, so I just skipped through it.

I'd be very worried if JJ lost 16 fumbles and 7 of those lost fumbles were run back for touchdowns. Until that happens, I guess you will just have to eat shite!

JL did not have one good game not one. He had a chance to prove himself and failed.

Jav you said jl proved himself, When?

Jordan Jefferson is a sophomore. It is way way way too early to predict if he will be "one of the greats." As far as I'm concerned with him, looking past this season and basing his career off of two games that each featured a miserable half of football is ridiculous.

these threads are always so predicatable. Anytime someone says something good about JJ or indicates they like what they've seem of him and are excited about his future at LSU the two idiots quickly show up here to start shite.

You realize you bring nothing to this thread?
You also realize that neither me or BT said JL should start?
I realize you did not read every inch of this thread but to make an assumption like that is retarded.
I have stated many many times my feelings I am sorry if you are too ignorant to understand that.

Refers more to the fans that overhype JJ than his actual performance.
ETA: Huge redundancy to re-post multiple posts in the same thread

It doesn't matter how many times I state JJ deserves the start.
It doesn't matter how many times I say he has all the potential in world.
It only matters to this idiot that I think they are pathetic for their constant bashing of Lee. That blaming him for each loss last year is stupid and shows a lack of understand about football.
Because of that they have this illogical idea of what I have said, or what I say. It is really stupidity at its best.
Like toothpick bitching about stats last night yet he did not even know the stats.
