Mett should work on Game plan for Bama.

Jennings is the second coming of JJ, and Miles can't wait.

If A.J. THROWS MORE THAN 2 PASSES, I'll call the Vatican to investigate this miracle

I know they're redshirting him, which is a good move, but I am really, really excited to see what Rettig can do.

Jennings will be good at handing off and taking a knee though.

I'm sorry but there is no way in hell that Jennings would gain anything close to "experience" against Furman. Confidence is the only thing he would gain from picking them apart. He gets more experience scrimmaging against our defense than he would by playing any team on Furman's level.

I would love to see Jennings get the whole second half to run the offense

That would be nothing but beneficial for him gaining confidence and experience running with the 1's in case mett goes down THIS year.

ANY snaps outside of practice against your own team is meaningful??

no they aren't
yes they are

yes, plenty
what as backup waterboy? No one who has ever played sports seriously has this opinion. All experience under live bullets is very beneficial, despite the opponent.

I say he gets one snap in the first 3 quarters and then kneels for 3 snaps to end the game.

as if any snaps against Furman will be "meaningful"?
They need to put JennSwag in and let him throw the freaking football every down! We all know he can "Run Real Fast", so put him in and let'er rip!

No need for Mett to be in there very long and risk injury. If the timing with the WR's aint there by this point in the season, it aint happening.

The Tigers SHOULD be able to easily vanquish Furman with either JennSwag or Rivers, (Or Rettig for that matter) running the show. Let em play and let em throw the freaking ball. If Miles/Camerom have decided 100% that AJ is going to be the starter next season, then give him a chance to run the offense and not just just handing the ball off to the RB's. Let's see how he does throwing it, going through progressions, reading defenses, clock/game management and all that good stuff.

BTW, there IS a difference playing in practice and in an actual game. NERVOUS TENSION sets in for some players when the lights come on in front of a lot of people in the stadium. Nobody knows how Jennings will respond until he plays significant snaps. I'd get the Swag of Jenn in there and let's see where he's at and what he's got. (Even though there may only be 50,000 or so in Tacky Stadium)

Get up by a few scores, then put him (And Rivers) in and let er rip with the full offensive package. What's to be lost by doing that? If we can't handle the Paladins with our backup QB's playing, there's something wrong somewhere. Let Mett get a few obligatory series and then get his arse out of there.

JennSwag throwing the ball. (JennSwag Jock Sniffers excited)

RiverSwag throwing the ball. (TigrLee excited)

No pick 6's boys. It aint 2008.

tell me what exactly will Jennings learn from playing the majority of snaps against Furman

surely you jest. no way you played football at a high level much less played qb.

and then tell how much you seriously believe it will affect his play starting next year?

it won't make him a veteren but what he does right will give him confidence and where he screws up will teach him not to do it again. it's call "trial and error" and there is NO BETTER WAY TO LEARN. you can talk about it and practice it till the cows come come but there is no substitute for actually doing it.

Gametime snaps moron. Actually running the offense against a defense that is not predictable. That's why they call these types of games, tune ups. He can shake off the nervousness if he makes a bad play on a bigger stage. Thousands of fans watching your every play is better than your coaches and team see your situational stuff everyday.

Yep. We'll start next season with a QB and WRs who've had very little, to no real gametime experience. That seems to be our curse. We can't seem to field an experienced offense and defense at the same time. Let's hope to God that Jennings is as good as advertised and that Bama doesn't steal Fourette from us. Otherwise, we are in big trouble.

The team will come out flat and we won't have the game "in hand" enough for Miles until the early 4th quarter. At that point AJ comes in for the last 2 series and doesn't throw a pass. After the game Miles will say, "we had a want to get him some more reps but the game didn't dictate that situation."
