proportially speaking it was almost that bad. I don't know what SU stadium holds but there were games in the curley years when I bet we only had around 50K people in the stadium regardless of what "paid attendance" was reported as. Granted Tiger Stadium only had a capacity of 84K, but it was still pretty empty. You could get some great season tickets back then though.

I think it's fair to say the excitement surrounding general SWAC athletics has been on a steady decline for some time. I mean, the biggest draw during the telecast of the Bayou Classic is the battle of the bands.

Choosing not to participate in the IAA playoff system doesn't help the argument either.

I would have to say I do agree with "oilfieldtiger." The SWAC has to participate in the IAA playoff to bring excitement to the conference. The tradational games are not enough anymore. There are some other things that can be changed as well, but that's another topic.
