I think all you have to do is look at quotes from opposing Defensive coaches and see what they think of Crowton.
I think they all say they don't know what's coming.
Last year I'm sure he felt very limited and frustrated. What's it like to make the perfect call and they your guy misses the throw or wide open guy?

Its just silly logic to think Miles called the part where the offense played bad, and then not when it played good.
is it silly to believe miles called some shitty plays?

Doc..that's a cool picture of Miles and Jefferson...that embrace will be repeated many times for the next three seasons

i'd say miles called 80 percent of that game.
not so sure whats funny, bc it was blatantly obvious miles was running the plays in that game

No, but if he gets the blame for that, then he should get equal credit for the good calls.

and what, then magically in the last 3 minutes Miles gives the playcalling to his offensive coordinator?

would it be silly to think that miles typically calls conservative calls, and crowton wide open calls.. therefore miles calls being not so good, and crowtons being good?

HES THE COACH, NOT THE O-COORDINATOR, HE SHOULD BE CALLING DICK
again, if you cant tell when miles is running fricking sweeps and dives three straight plays, as was the case in the auburn game against FAST AS frick lb's who were stuffing it everytime, yet no change? everyone knows miles is stubborn, and he wouldnt change what he thought
everyone knows thats not crowtons style of offense, its realy not that hard to figure out

So ya'll are saying, Fisher called the first 2 games, Miles steps in to call the plays in the 3rd game against AU, gives it back to Jimbo with a few minutes left. Then Jimbo calls the Tulane and Miss St. games, then Miles obviously calls the plays in the Fla game because we lost. Then Jimbo calls the plays for the rest of the games, yeah that makes sense

most plays are already decided on when going into a game. the head coach does help with the game plan.
however when the other team makes adjustments, there are plays that have been added in to go to to couonter the adjustments, hence the different color plays on the sheets of the coaches.
now who makes the decision to call what play? thats the question.
maybe the OC has a great feel for what is going on and wants to make the call.
maybe the head coach wants to make the call because he thinks he can see something the OC cant.
either way, unless you have on a headset, you really cant tell who made what call when because the gameplan is already in place.
the question is, how good are your adjustments going into the game?
of course im not a coach but this is what i got from our numerous meetings with your staff this year

the fla game was lost with execution and passes bouncing off bowes hands. not playcalling.
is it hard to believe that miles would take over playcalling duties for certain situations, series, or entire games?

I think that's what we want to know as well.
doubt we will ever know though.
same thing with who selects which runningbacks to go in on a play?
porter? miles? crowton?
