Does he let them pitch or will it be a walk-a-thon every time he gets up to bat?

Didn't work so well during the season and with Watson on fire, don't think he has much choice.

I hope he does. Would love to have free passes with the way we have been hitting.

Walking deichmann worked fine for miss st during the season

And they will prob pitch to him when there isnt a base open. Last time he almost always came up with 1st base open

I would like to think it will be more situational this time and not an automatic walk

With Watson behind Deichmann he has no choice but to pitch to Deichmann more now. Especially if there's already a guy on base, because you dont want to see Watson up there with 2 or even 3 guys on.

Watson has done it over a regional. Deichman has done it over a season. Pick your poison, but I'm not pitching to Deichman if there is a base open.

They will walk deichmann every time 1st base is open with a runner on second or third

Do you think Watson/Deichmann more dangerous then Mangum/Rooker at this point?

And we aren't pitching to Rooker in the same situations.

In that case, should LSU walk Rooker in similar situations?

So you would pitch to Watson with the bases loaded vs. Deichmann with 1 or 2 on?

Sounds like a tough decision.

Absolutely. That dude can change every single game with one swing of the bat. He is damn good, and he is not slowing down.

However, I would love for Mississippi State to have a runner on third with 2 outs and Lange strike his arse out. Alex Box would absolutely explode. I wouldn't want anybody but Lange and Hess pitching to him though.

Depends on the situation. Most likely they will go after him since we got our bats going. Hoping Watson stays hot

Yes they will. Both will warrant the same tactical treatment. Both teams will try to avoid letting the other beat them. That is just respect at the highest level.

If Watson shows he's still red hot, then it makes the decision tougher. But I would still lean towards setting up a force situation and taking my chances with Watson over Deichman.

It will depend entirely on what the guys hitting in front of Deichmann do.

Watson is hot, and did it for one week, chances are he wont hit multiple bombs this weekend, i think cannizaro will think similarly

Anybody with a brain would. We are talking about being hot for one weekend, versus being hot all season.

Then take into account that with runners on third with one out....you pitch to Deichman and a ground ball to short stop scores a run. Walk Deichman and then a ground ball to short gets you out of the inning. It's not just about the home runs.
