I saw Davenport this past hs season against Winnfield, and he looked utterly lazy. I hope he will be motivated to be the man at LSU.

Didn't he come off a knee injury before that season?

it was an old joke when chad was being recruited

Just an observation. Some of us aren't always in on the inside jokes.... that doesn't make us less eager to know what you guys know or think.

If you want to make this an inside joke board... fine.

But, it's time consuming to read every thread and get up to speed on the inside jokes. And, I believe, the smart-arse comments from people that don't know any more than the questioner have a chilling effect on the flow of information that a lot of us would like to have, from fellow LSU fans.

I really appreciate the humor that's in good spirit and directed to the person you're responding to, but I'm more interested in information, opinions of followers of LSU, etc.

Hard to believe he is the only 5 star DL returning letterman (or maybe there's one more ?)...he better shite or get off the pot - him and Richard Murphy and Chad Jones. That's 14 stars worth of player that I have yet to see a whole lot out of.

Songy jinxed Murphy last year.

I understand the problem you might have with Woods but whats the problem with these 2. Chad jones has played well since he has been here and Murphy is playing behind 2 great backs Scott and Williams OH and Holliday

Woods has never shown much to me, to my disappointment. Chad Jones is a talent, and if he doesn't develop, it's either on him for not applying himself or the coaches for not developing him.

Um...we must be watching two different players. Chad Jones is an incredible athlete who can lay the wood and play about any spot in the back 7. But...do I have to explain this? Or, is there another poster that might back me up on this one?

As far as Murphy goes, yes I realize he's behind two NFL backs (and you could argue that he is behind Keiland at all times). That's not the point. There's a moderately sized group of Murphy devotees who have been claiming that he would rush for 1,000 yards in 2008 (some even said '07). He's supposedly one of the most versatile backs to ever set foot on LSU campus. So, why is he not putting up the #'s and getting the carries?

Chad Jones brother changed his name. He goes by Drake Nevis now. Common mistake, though.

I tend to agree with you. But, although C.Jones has shown flashes of brilliance, there's no reason for him not to be the man of the secondary unless there's a flaw there undiscernible by the fans like you and me. He's got way too much potential.

Murphy - the injuries and the bad luck of who he's behind and the style of our offense... definitely have limited him.

Exactly LA007. If anyone thinks Chad Jones has lived up to his potential, then they aren't seeing what you and me and many others are. That's not a knock on Jones as it is what we expect. 5 stars normally don't take three years to develop. I don't put all my faith and stock into stars, but Chad Jones is one player who I did do that with. Jones looks out of place very often. I know what he's capable of and it's much, much more.

Chad Jones is still a young individual who has played well at times i'm not saying he has step up like a landry but what i'm saying is he shouldn't take the heat WOODS is taking. Murphy is just a junior because he took a redshirt so therefore he still has a year to clown unless Ford has something to say about that. Now I and Woods are from the same town and i agree he has not play up to his potential, will he i don't know i hope he does but this is it now or never

I think coaching in 08 had alot to do with that.

It's funny, too. Because you can actually have somewhat of a reasoned discussion, by people with all sorts of different backgrounds and opinions.... until it comes to the QB situation.

I'll buy that, but if this season is not HIS, then it cannot be any fault but his own. '07 - young. '08 - Malveto. '09 is all about Chad Jones because I think Chavis is going to give him the opportunity to be all-SEC calibur.

007, you won't catch me in any qb discussion thread. That's just one subject that is as tired as Herman Johnson's "biggest baby in LA" story.
