Why wasn't the Sternberger fumble/drop reviewed?

I never heard an explanation (maybe there was 50 threads last night)... The knee down by Mond was rightfully reviewed because it was a critical play in the game. The clock it spike was rightfully reviewed because it was a critical play in the game. That fricking fumble should have been reviewed and reversed. Was Sternberger catch/fumble a non-reviewable situation for some reason? If it's due to the whistle being blown, i have a hard time believing the whistle blew before we recovered the fumble, happened very quickly. Maybe it did, anyone have replay with sound?

There is zero chance that would be overturned

the knee play was reviewed b/c it was a turnover

the "fumble" wasn't because it wasn't a turnover and was ruled dead

Had it been reviewed it would have been upheld. That was an incompletion. Where we got scewed was the 4th and 18 they were given. Also the unfortunate no call when the QB’s knee touched. Had it been called right from the get-go we win easily, because they would have chewed up 20 seconds resetting.

I've see similar plays called dead reviewed often. When they determine a fumble, they give it to who recovered it at that spot (if the ball was advanced that is all negated).

The play wasn't reviewed due to the need to manufacture more drama. The game would have ended (again) there.

So the CFB rule is different from NFL for this situation? In NFL, I know the play can be reviewed if there was a clear recovery even if blown dead. This play would definitely fall into that category.

O was definitely discussing with Ref after play so that what I assume he told him as to why they didn’t review. At least I hope that’s what they told him.

Catch/fumble vs dropped pass isn't reviewable?

I agree, they should have reviewed that spot, absolutely critical to the game and they just allowed it. Why wasn't O yelling his arse off?

The LSU postgame show host, kind of a douche bag I dont even know his name, said the yellow line on the tv was wrong and the guy did get the first. I have no idea, but the line was way wrong on another play where they measured for it. So maybe he's right....

He caught it and was running for a touchdown. How did he not possess it?

This has already been explained. The line was way off. It was at the 41 but the line was actually the 43

It definitely wasn’t clear one way or another. I wouldn’t have compliained if it was upheld. The point is that it was definitely worth a review.

The 4th and 18 play was WAY more deserving of a review that the SEC office or whoever is responsible for in game reviews clearly missed.

The ref softened O up all night, ref was giggling the whole game and O cracked a smile a couple times. Not sure WTF they were yucking it up about...
