This is how I saw it as well. He started to lose it well before he hit the ground.

technically yes, it was a good call because they blew it dead... I think they blew it early b/c elzy was still fighting and saved him.

Regarding the Murphy fumble. He clearly looked to have it under control, cradled in his forearm. Then his forearm/elbow hit the ground and jars it loose.
