Why so many down on Lee?

I though he did just what he was asked to do. His WR's could have helped him out much more. Could have easily been a 15 / 22 for 150+ night with a 2nd half in which we didn't have to throw the ball.
With our Run game and "D" what else are you guys looking for?

24-30 for 400 yds and 8 TD's
per game
LSU wins 100-3 everytime
If that does not happen, the ranters will revolt

they all mad bruh
The recievers didn't make plays for him.
Beckham should of scored on the pass to the endzone, he had both hands on the ball.
Kadrone boone had both hands on the ball and the DB wasn't even looking for the ball.
Chase clement had a couple nice drops.
The General looks good in all but a lil bit of scared when he throws off his back foot, and looking lost on one play and taking a sack.

He'll improve. Didn't make any costly mistakes.

The scramble backwards and a few passes behind the receivers were my only complaint.
I'll give him a B+, considering the opponent, the setting, and the off the field distractions.

I'd rather him take a sack then throw it up for grabs and hope one of our receivers catch it.

He'll improve. He was a little skittish, but no worries.
We didn't need him to win the game for us.
Winning is the key!

Why so many high on Lee?
He played within himself and did what was asked of him. Some people hate JJ so much that they convinced themselves that Lee produced an above average performance. I think he will get better as the season unfolds but his performance Saturday was below average for a BCS QB.

Agreed, i thought he did very well. His stat line was not great but he had a ton of drops and some penalties took away at least one big pass.

LSU fans love to bitch. As long as there is a backup QB, someone will want him to play. People wanted Perrilloux over Flynn. Lee started his first game and did what he was told to do. Don't turn the ball over, don't throw a ball up for grabs, rely on your running game, and get the ball to playmakers. Well his #1 WR was hurt and barely played during the game. His #2 WR was suspended. So he had 4 new guys who didn't catch very well and a TE who saved the day. As the receivers get better, so will Lee and so will the playcalling. As long as the defense gets rest and the running game is working, you won't see us air it out. Control the clock and be physical. Don't force anything and avoid turnovers. Lee did his part and outside of 3-4 passes he was just what we needed.
On a side note: zero option plays, only 1 QB sneak, and no more confusion in the huddle. Big difference than JJ. Although the center needs some improvement.

I agree, see Florida and Alabama 2010.
He will win games for us, but if Ware and Ford will do it, he won't have to. All he needed to do this games was hit on some play action passes and he did.

Most I see is people are happy with his performance and realize that receivers' dropped balls.

There is nothing wrong with Lee that a Josh Reed type receiver wouldn't cure. He needs a receiver that can find the open spot on the field and turn for the pass.
