yes, but this year only 3 teams had winning SEC records and we were one of them.
True, but last year is still very much on fan's minds with respect to how they feel about Miles.

No, that would be you and you can't even be honest bout what you are doing.

Have any of the TV guys covering the Saints game tonight talk bout Drew Brees' 2 yr TD total or this season's total? Pull up the NCAA stat page on/line and tells us where we might find the 2 yr totals of stats for LSU football. You can't cause it goes yr by yr. Does the BCS combine stats for two yrs to decide who plays in the title game or do they make that decision based yr by yr?

LSU is 5-3, 9-3, and #14 in the nation. They have a shot at a New Years Day game, a 10 win season, and a possible top 10 final ranking. Base your case off this season and stop the cherry picking.

I am going to put my quote down here. Please read very slowly.

quote:

Most LSU fans did not want to see us slip from the top of the SEC and the top of the SEC West. We have. Now we are just trying not to fall into SEC West mediocrity. This is why Miles has lost most fans. Because we have gone from the top of the SEC, to the middle of the SEC west. And as long as Saban and Urban are playing us twice a year, we may never get out of the role of second fiddle.
Okay so in 2007, LSU was on top of the SEC. Since then , we have slipped to the middle of the SEC West. That is what I wrote, correct? I have already posted the conference record.

quote:

Base your case off this season and stop the cherry picking.

Miles has lost fan support over the period of the last two seasons, not just the last season. I don't know why that is so hard to get. And what "case" are you referring to? What "case" am I trying to make?

I'd appreciate you not calling out my honesty as I have not called out yours.

To begin with, there is no way you or I know if Miles has "lost most fans" or not...is there? But I have seen Tiger Stadium when a coach has lost most LSU fans and this yrs attendance does not support your case. Also, any LSU fans "lost" by Miles after a 5 yr 50+ wins career, 5 bowl games in 5 yrs, 3 top 5 finishes, a chance to finish top 10 finish this yr, and a national title need to stay "lost" cause that's what they truly are..."lost."

If you feel a 3rd place finish in the SEC equates to fall into mediocrity...knock yourself out but I don't and I don't think most reasonable people would.

We have the chance to finish this season more highly ranked than 97% or so of our 120 FBS brothers. You can be unhappy with that if you wish, but I'll be smiling and enjoying our success all off season.

You don't read a thing do you?

I never said we WERE in SEC mediocrity, I said fans don't want us to fall into SEC mediocrity.

If you really believe this statement, you need medication.

Miles has lost the majority of the fan base because of the results of the last two seasons. I really think you are just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.

That's rich...you have proclaimed Miles to be on the hot seat cause he has lost the fans, offered nothing to back up your claim, and cause I dare to disagree with you I need medication.

Feel bout Coach Miles and the LSU team as you wish and I will do the same.

As I said, I will be hoping for a New Year Day bowl, another bowl win to go 5-0, and perhaps a top 10 ranking for LSU, you, and all LSU fans be they "lost" or not!

i agree with Lonnie on the 1st page. Our atheletic director is probablly ovewhelmed by our success in most sports including football. A new years day bowl is good enough for him. I do agree with other fans in the fact that groups like the TAF hold some sway, if miles leads us to 8-4 next year there will be drama. He will be gone

Way to cherry pick. Either use the current year to show where the program is NOW or Miles's complete body of work at LSU to show what he has accomplished. Anything else is agenda driven.
No, they're "trend driven". 5 years is history, 2 years is a trend. The trend is your friend. History is for historians. The last 2 years show a trend downward for the LSU program, I would wager a bet that if you asked almost any CFB 'guru' in the media, that they would agree with that statement.

I don't think Miles is on the hot seat as far as LSU goes. I think he has lost the fans for a myriad of reasons, the greatest of which is the fact the we are now 2nd fiddle in the SEC West to our old coach that so many fans pine for.
Once again, you don't know how to read.

Just because you refuse to accept that he has lost the majority of the fans doesn't mean he hasn't.

Exactly what coach out there right now is ready to take over the LSU program and immediatley go 1-1 or 2-0 against Ala. or Fla. - notwithstanding Tebow's departure.

It is silly to say that only Miles took over a successful program. I don't remember Florida being a doormat with Urban took over.

Let me pose a different perspective for Joe Aleva
- He came from a school where football is not the cash cow - basketball is.
- Basketball pays for Duke football it's the other way around at LSU. So he needs his cash cow to perform to pay for other sports.
- Duke had a coach who won 2 ACC coach of the year awards, now coaches in SEC

Don't equate the sports from AD's perspective. His view includes the balance sheet, not just wins and losses.

And just because you state that he has like it's a fact doesnt make it true. Again, i listen to alot of sports radio and watch alot college football showw and i havent once heard anything about LSU wanting Miles out. Don't you think that if this was the opinion of the majority there would atleast some mention of it somewhere?

I know it makes you feel better to think that you're in the majority, but according to the national media, you're not.

For anyone to think that "anyone" could coach this team to a better record shows extreme stupidity sonnyboy

talk about stupidity? Yes I am being objective and I've been seriously following LSU football since at least 1956-57. This is 2009 not the mid 1980's. What does that mean? When you ignore the facts, it is like getting your arse kicked when you least expected it. Let go of the mediocris way of thinking and think improvement and betterment for the program. You snooze and you loose; do you enjoying loosing more in the near future? If so,

I'll say it again...i'm am absolutely amazed at the Miles' haters uncanny ability to predict the future. One down year and 2 rookie QB's and all of the sudden we're Vanderbilt.

P.S. It's "lose" not "loose"

It's an AD's job to do everything he can to improve the balance sheet. Having a winning program automatically improves the bottomline. So, wins & loses should be an AD's first priority, IMO. We have a shitty AD that made a miraculous hire. Fortunately for him, hiring that coach made him look like a genius.
