He's definitely the most gifted passer in practice, the most accurate with a good arm. But he's not played in the SEC and at this point he is a ?, an unknown.

So you would prefer a qb who last year was 11th out of 12 in the SEC and 100th out of 116th in the country and put up a 3-10 with 2 INT's versus a poor SEC team Tennessee and could only amass 4 total yards against a poor team McNeese over a talented but somewhat unproven qb who actually was neck and neck with Aaron Murray the best qb in the SEC and this was verified by Murray and Richt?

So you are fine with the 10 INT's and 9 fumbles JJ had last year I assume?

Maybe I would just like to see a competent qb out there who might actually give LSU an alternative to failing.
11-2 with the 2 losses primarily due to defensive struggles is failing?

Yea that was 2008 when Lee threw the pick sixes this is 2011 and there is a big difference between a qb who contributes to the 11 wins as opposed to one the team wins in spite of like JJ last year. Or if he was so good why did they have to keep going to Lee to bail him out? Even in the Auburn game after he hurt his wrist and missed most of the 2nd half when it got down to the last drive Miles pulled JJ and put Lee in to run the 2 minute drill!

It isn't. If JJ is better most people will be elated. We will know if this is true in September.

in spite of like JJ last year.
How many games did JL have more Total O than JJ?
How many games might have been lost without JJ scoring TDs, getting firsts on busted plays?

JL did a great job coming in last year, but JJ also had his days, along with SR, TT et, al.
It's a team sport. You are wrong to dis the guy so much.

One of his favorite plays he said was laying down the block for dpeterson on the reverse against bama.

One of mine as well.

While JJ makes me pull my hair out by the roots at times, he also makes me smile with his effort and willingness to hit/take a hit.

He has been inconsistent in his passing game, to this point in time, but you don't have 37 TDs, 4500 total yards, and the rushing record for a QB going into your SR while playing in the best college football has to offer without talent and ability.

Hopefully, our 3 QBs will all improve or have already improved, we can have another outstanding year, and even have consistent QP play no matter who lines up behind center.

Your memory sucks. JJ didn't win over the starting job. He replaced an injured Lee.

Wow, this thread is doing well. I started it b/c so many people seemed infuriated that JJ was getting praise from a few ESPN and other sources for looking better. It's starting to calm down a bit on here. We all know that he needs to show major improvement, but the trashing of him like your life is invested in his play is a bit much.

I'm a very serious LSU fan, but chill out yall and look forward to a great season. JJ's going to make good plays, bad plays, and there will be a time when Mett gets in. Let the coaches coach and lets cheer our asses off.

Does earning offensive MVP of the peach bowl in your first start as a true freshman qualify as "winning the job" going into '09?

JJ took over the 2nd half of Ole Miss and LSU lost. Not his fault, the game was out of hand. Then he started the Arkansas game due to Lee still being injured. Started out well enough, but ZERO offense in the 2nd half lead to a loss. He has started ever since other than injury.

Yea due to you really think the JJ fanboys are going to let something as simple as a fact get in the way of telling their story the way they want to tell it?
