exactly. The only reason Devonta Smith won in 2020 is because the vast majority of teams only played 4-6 games and conferences like the ACC and SEC didn't have elite QB play.

Living here in Alabama, I've had the (regrettable) opportunity to hear some of radio personalities respond to whether they would have Daniels as their front runner. Many said he should be invited, but they couldn't commit to putting him #1.

I know they aren't the actual voters, but it does show something: even though Daniels was absolutely torching the Bama defense, the fact that Bama won will be used against him.

This game wasn't Leonard Fournette getting only 31 yards against Bama. But, the result will be the same.

If Jacques Doucet and the media in Alabama couldn't watch him in this game and see he's should be the clear leader, he has no chance to win the award.
