Remains to be seen. It's still a Les Miles-Studthorpe offensive scheme and philosophy. Will Les et al panic if Mett throws an INT?
Yeah I really don't feel like having this stupid fricking conversation in May. We won't agree, and you sound like an idiot.

Why do we need it? We dominate the line of scrimmage. No need for trick plays.
Did you watch the championship game? Or the first half of Georgia and Arkansas? Or any of 2009? Our offense was abysmal and it is really inexplicable that something that worked so well in earlier use was completely abandoned when our offense was stinking to high hell.
I agree it will be less important this upcoming season due to an assumed improved offense with Mett, but make no mistake, we certainly needED it at times in the previous two seasons.
And if it continues to be successful, why the hell not use it and keep defenses off balance and utilize the special talents of a player who hasn't exactly been lighting it up from the receiver position anyway?

How about using it to give defensive coordinators something else to plan for? How about using it to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers? How about using it instead of having two bad QB's playing? There's a fricking billion reasons LSU could have used it in the past few seasons.
Or you can sit back and enjoy what you saw on 1/9. We got our asses completely outclassed with nothing at all we could go to except for speed option. Great fricking plan.

Yes, and you're the sine qua non of intelligence on the Rant. We don't know how much Les will open the offense. I'm hopeful because we have Mett and our new WR coach, Henry, should be a step up from the pitiful Billy Gonzales.
BTW, GFY.

I aspire to use a dead language on this board just like you do. You're so learned and smart.

Oh nos, an "ad hominem" attack. Latin fight.

You're right, we don't know much. That's why your blanket generalizations based on no knowledge in May is tired and stupid.

How do you even know we won't? History says we won't be like last year if you actually look at stats from Miles career of coaching. I suggest you go look it up.

WHEN WILL HE THROW?
As if this has never been asked before. Think Shep would have won on 1/9?

Lol at saying did you watch the first half of a game. Les Miles wins games in the forth. And wow guess what. Lsu won those games by running the ball in the forth against a tired D.

He's asking why haven't we. As in in the past. I don't need to look up shite to know Les Miles sucks at offense.

Or some Percy Harvin type plays? Seems like it would be a nice addition to our offense.
Even if we win a championship I will still wonder why we never did this

We ran for 2800 yards last year. That was our team. We had one of the highest scoring offenses in the country.
Can people stop allowing one game against a great defense cause all rational thought to escape their brains?
It's fricking may for christ's sake and this is what we're talking about? You people are fricking pathetic.

Last year was the first year with a new offensive coordinator it takes a couple of years to install a complete scheme.

Apparently we don't need those "trick plays" because our offense is so good. B Gap toss, option, and bubbles all day baby.

Why? Our offense was stagnant that first half, just like it was all of 2010. So why didn't we use it more in 2010?

Like Alabama? Maybe if our offense was better we'd have games won before the fourth. Our defense was absolutely outstanding this year and the I liked the offense we ran with Lee and the power run game this year. That's still no explanation for not using a system that worked and it's certainly no explanation for why it wasn't used in 2010 or in games this year where the offense was absolutely horrid for long stretches.

We won Arkansas and Georgia because of great defense and special teams plays. We won against Alabama in the regular season because our defense and special teams played lights out. We won many games IN SPITE of our offense. Our power running game is good, yes, but this is SEC football and you aren't going to win on that alone.
You have still miserably failed to make the case against using Shepard from the backfield.

You keep saying this. Why exactly are you opposed to people discussing football topics on an LSU message board in May? And who are you to determine such anyway?
