Why do some posters get so defensive when Ranters criticize our offense?

Almost every thread about our offense being inept always has the poster(s) that say "yeah being undefeated with this offense sure does suck", or when compared to another team with less talent that does more, "yeah I wish we were 5-3 too"

I mean have we reached the point that we can't even be critical of the offense?

I can't believe there's still those people out there defending this offense we've been running. FWIW last week was a little better, but well see how that translates to the BAMA game.

Because some posters have a not so subtle agenda, and it casts suspicion on even legitimate discussion.

Ultra PosiTigers are idiots. Just because a fan is criticizing an aspect of the team doesnt mean they are unhappy with the overall state of the team.

Critiquing the team is part of the fun of being a fan.

I understand what you are saying. But what alot of people complaining about the offense dont understand, is that it is a part of the overall philosophy Miles uses. Our defense would most likely not have the stats it does if we ran an air raid offense (as an example). Also, the specific people that these posters blame are usually not the begining and end of the issue. I have no problem with complaints that are correct. But im not going to agree with someone blaming mett for a receivers f up.

Depends on who is "criticizing" the offense.

It's the first thing I look at when I see a post regarding that. White Tiger seems to love "criticizing" or "critiquing" the offense all the time. A couple other posters do as well. It's literally all they talk about.

Criticizing the offense is certainly understandable but when it's over and over and over and riling people up to make negative posts, that's when it's something else.

Yep. It's fine to be critical, but most are just waiting for any excuse to jump on Miles or Stud, because they still haven't accepted that Saban left. This is the same staff that was putting up 45 points a game last season, but now it's their fault that we're struggling? When you have a patchwork OL, lost your deep threat NFL reciever, and are breaking in a new QB there are going to be bumps in the road and it's a challege to figure out what plays can actually be executed. The posters who bitch neglect every reason I just listed and go full rantard, straight to FIRE MILES HE SUCKS SO BAD!!1!1!!!!!111.

Im talking about people that specifically come into threads to comment on people's posts about our offense.

Riling who up exactly?

It doesn't rile me up because it's factual. The offense for whatever reason (execution, scheme, personell, play calling) has been subpar for years. If it rials you up that much, then you can choose just to read another more positive thread. The guy's thread may die faster that way.

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous to defend our offense, for the most part.

IMO, they have improved in the last couple of weeks (don't get me wrong, they aren't stellar but they have improved).

But to get defensive is pretty strange.

It is at times frustrating when healthy discourse devolves to silly name calling, silly categorizing, or reminders of our record suggesting critical discussion is precluded.

Living in NYC for the past ten years, I have come to rely on this board for my LSU fix. It's where I get that which I grew up on, LSU conversation--the kind of conversation where we celebrated together or debated the root cause(s) of a loss together. Yes, we understood we were not coaches, nor would the actual coaches ever contact us to get our thoughts but that passion for LSU ran deep and seemed to become a part of our genetic makeup. If our Tigers lost, we felt as though we had to understand the how's and why's. And boy did we disagree (sometimes vehemently), but we always talked though it nd listened to each other. And yes, even in victory we engaged in critical discussion. My LSU brethren are few and far between up here so i come here for that conversation. Yet, over the past few years, often, questioning of the staff or play calling quickly leads to negatiger this positiger that; or "post less"; or "root for someone else." Heck, even a member's post count has been grounds for dismissal of that person's opinion. With that said I come back again and again :)

Saying I wish we could be Ole Miss or Tennessee is not criticizing the offense. It is just a dumb fricking post and lately the Rant has been flooded with them.

ETA: I am also tired of the negatards throwing in the towel because the offense has been bad. We are 7-1 and playing at home, where we haven't lost in 2 years. We have had a bad offense for a long time. Stop fricking predicting a blow out loss to Bama. There are other things that matter in a football game other than our bad offense.

I agree with this. It hasn't been great, but it's gotten better since AU and FL.

Ranters ought to be criticizing UGA/FLA offense today. Good Lord this game is ugly!

Most of the rant.

Me either.

But when every other day, the same posters over and over start threads saying stuff like, "Sure wish our offense was like Texas Tech." then 2 days later, the same person starts another thread saying, "Wow, Pitt has a better offense." then 2 days later another one, "Ole Miss has a better offense...."

At that point it's no longer critiquing the offense. It's flaming. People get annoyed because they're tired of reading the same stuff from the same poster(s). People get it.

Like I said, I'm not floored with our offense either but they have improved in the last couple weeks.

Exactly. People get it and they get annoyed and say stuff like the Ole Miss thing. They're tired of reading it.

The guy said "ole miss gets it done with a well designed offense"

Nowhere in there does it say "I wish we were
Ole miss"

You obviously are reading into what people are saying a little too much.

Are you content with this offense?

Take that shite to the SEC Rant then. It is just another post with no substance.

The offense is bad. We get it.
