Henson was TE's coach for the past 4 years. He will be missed recruiting wise though. He spent a bunch of time on the road in the kids homes, schools, fields, etc. He was a very important part if not the most important part of the entire recruiting process. Good luck to him at Mizzou!

YES, it would be a HUGE step backwards. Better NOT happen. I'd think Miles wouldn't be this stupid. What does a mediocre and "fired" DL coach know about coaching Tight Ends? Why hasn't Lane been hired at some other school? Plenty of openings every year. Is LSU now a baby sitting way station for mediocre coaches that can't find jobs elsewhere? Earl Lane

Lane is a great recruiter. Miles has coached TEs in the NFL.
It's very possible that this was all in the works from the beginning. And, Miles placed Lane in an administrative role until the Henson deal was final.
