I get last year but 2012 and 2013 we finished top 15. While not an elite season we only have 20 top 15 finishes in our entire history.
It is cut and dry. Miles has had the best tenure of any lsu football coach and when people say they don't want more of Miles' same ole same ole they sound extremely ignorant because the same ole same ole was our best era ever.
For the record I was in favor of a coaching change if we were getting an upgrade and I think Jimbo is an upgrade.

Unfortunately Miles has become a victim of his own success; folks want LSU to beat Bama. 1/9 also didn't help. LSU fans hate Bama and if you can't beat Bama, you're gonna have a bad time.
It's not really wins and losses. I know you've watched the games, man. Penalties, not getting plays in, archaic offense, no developing of a QB, Steele and Peveto seem to have been bad hires, etc
Miles was highly successful at LSU. I just think the writing is on the wall. We can be all nostalgic and look back at the numbers, that's fine. But things are different. They feel different. Anyways. Ima go watch The Leftovers.

Just saw your edit. You clearly get it too. I get it. Bashing Miles is unnecessary. I think he has become stubborn offensively and folks are frustrated with the same bullshite. I mean, Jimbo has had, what, 4 first rounders? LSU has had 0 first rounders under Miles at QB. It sucks watching the same dog shite every Saturday on offense. It's just old and tired. Love the man, but I want something new to freshen up things. Inject some life back into this program. Hasn't felt the same since 1/9 IMO.

Kirby Smart is100% better than Miles????
What are you basing that on exactly? The fact that he worked for Saban and ran his defense.
What do you truly know about him? Did you think that Bo Pellini was going to slay everyone at Nebraska too?

This team was fun as frick to watch before bama, wtf are you talking about
Not really- a missed FG could have cost us the Ms. St. game, which got close because of Miles being conservative. Florida game shouldn't have been that close, what about Syracuse? We sweated out games except for Auburn and USC.

she's gonna blow that frickin' bridge
pretty unrealistic to think that 1 bridge with a hand full of guards could stop all of those people in the first place

Yep,
That's right!
Signed,
Jamarcus Russell
2007 NFL Draft #1 Overall Pick

oops, my bad.
I guess Miles deserves all the credit for developing Russell? Even though Russell came to LSU in 2003. I'm sure Russell himself believes had it not been for Miles, he'd never have ben drafted 9 years ago!
Now, let's move on to post Saban recruits and decide what QB Miles really did recruit and develop. Ya know, since Miles is such a highly regarded position coach and offensive guru. How long was he an OC at Oklahoma State?

So are you saying that Russell in 2004 was as good as he was in 2005 and 2006?
Posted on 12/3/15 at 9:13 pm to DrEdgeLSU
You mean he wasn't as good as an underclassman as he was an upperclassman?!
Get out of town!
eta are you really going to argue that Miles develops QBs? because you're gonna lose this argument. Let me go get some coffee going.

Sorry I didn't respond quickly enough for you.
I didn't say that at all. He statement was that zero QBs under miles had been first round draft picks. It was factually inaccurate.
Miles is not a QB coach. He hasn't claimed to be. Not sure what your point is but enjoy your iced mocha latte.

that's fine; I'll concede I was wrong. I posted that on a whim. But you and I both know Miles doesn't deserve any credit for Jamarcus. You know who should? The guy many wanted to replace Miles. Because he then went on to to produce 3 more 1st round QBs in Winston, Ponder and Manuel. I think it's pretty clear who developed Russell. And it wasn't a Miles hire.
But go ahead and continue yo use my post against me even though you know exactly what I mean. Anything to defend Miles amirite?

Not sure why you get butt hurt over people supporting the current coach of the team. It really upsets people for some reason.
Sry not everyone has a jimbo fisher obsession.

Looks like I'm discussing.
I love that you call me out with the irrational program bashing and bull shite spewed all over this board. But me supporting the coach is outlandish to you apparently
Whatever bro

Some of us would prefer him not be the coach of the team, for obvious reasons. Oh, and you were one of them. And by some of us, I mean the majority of us. If you don't like it, take your fence riding, white knighting bullshite to reddit where they will give you lollipops and hugs while you jerk off to pictures of Les.

so no matter who the current coach is, you will support them. Nice. You're a shitty fan for this reason alone. What a simple minded way to look at things.
