Why can't LSU win basketball games on the road?

I watch college basketball more than any other sport and LSU has arguably the best frontcourt in the country. They blast teams at home even when they don't play very well. I don't understand why we can't win a couple road games. The only team LSU has played with more talent is Kentucky. Sorry guys I'm still dealing with the fact that we were one point away from being in the tournament.

just comes down to not being able to execute as well on the road. It's just a problem in college basketball in general. Focus, setting. In the SEC it's really not crowd noise. Played better at UK than we did at UGA and A&M with only a few thousand fans.

Refs don't help much on the road either

LSU defends the goal more aggressively than anyone in the SEC. Home record: 7-1. Road record: 1-6.

Arkansas defends the perimeter more aggressively than anyone in the SEC. Home record: 5-2. Road record: 2-5.

2 of the 3 road wins were South Carolina.

has alot to do with it, refs seem to cater the officiating to whatever the home teams style is

for instance at the pmac its obvious, the refs know we're a post heavy team so let us play physical at home

most other SEC teams are perimeter or slashing based teams thus the refs are quick to blow a whistle when defending a slashing guard or guard shooting a 3

call it wrong or right, thats just how it is

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the college game anymore.

no defensive intensity on the road with no real team leader to take control. dont underestimate the ability of leadership, especially on the road.

college hoops is dominated by guard play. Stringer has insane 3pt % numbers but cant generate his own shot. Hickey much of the same with erratic 3pt accuracy. this team has no backup 2 guard.

Very little composure in opposing gyms

JOB consistently on the bench for most of each 1st half on the road with foul trouble. At aTm, he goes out with 2 fouls up 18-11. He sits the remainder of the half and we go into the locker room down 9

those are the main reasons IMO

You're right! Just wait until Stringer, JOB, Hickey and Coleman get some games under thier belt. Then this team is really going to take off

LSU struggles on the road just like every other SEC team not named UK or UF. However, the reason LSU struggles to win away from home is simply that they place no emphasis on defending. They are 232nd in the nation in scoring defense. For the most part, every team (no matter how good or bad) is going to shoot better at home and worse on the road.

At home, LSU's offense can carry them over opponents who are probably going to shoot a statistically lower % than they would at their place. LSU still plays bad defense at home, but it doesn't hurt them as much because their opponent plays worse offense. On the road LSU's defense is equally as bad. However, their offense can't make up the difference.

There's no reason we shouldn't beat mid-level and low-level SEC teams on the road. For some reason our offense just doesn't execute as well on the road. We will really need to correct that issue next season.

I agree it's not youth. We have a very good makeup of youth and experience. Tigers just have to feed off opponents fans and live in the experience.

Oh well I guess i'll have to put a couple refs tires on a flat to get a road win. Nevermind i'll bust out a window or something. Putting someone tires on a flat is 2 gay.
