Colt McCoy his sophomore year threw 18 interceptions though and was sacked 24 times. He regressed from his freshman year. The only way for Lee to go is up.

We're talking about being a first year starter here. McCoy came in started his first year and played really well.

Had a HORRIBLE sophomore campaign so I'd rather take our lumps now and be nails the next three years.

I know just saying that last year Longhorn fans were pretty worried about McCoy and look how good he is doing now. The same thing could happen to Lee.

Everyone adjusts differently. Remember what Manning was like his first year with the colts?

He regresses during his sophomore season?

My point is that you can't act like other QBs aren't coming in and starting and playing during their freshman(/RS Freshman) seasons.

Are you implying that Lee is the best 1st year starter ever? Just asking since you seem to not know ANY that he appears not as good as.

Yes he struggles because he is a RS frosh, but also he makes the same mistakes over, and over, and over again. He has played some good ball and some truly horrible ball. Against Troy, the kid could not get this team into the end zone for 3 qtrs. Yes he showed up and was a gamer in the 4th but I think its just baffling how JJ scored the 1st TD for us. IMHO without that score right there, we go down horribly in defeat. JJ would not have had the numbers that JL had in the 4th and would not have led us to victory as Lee did but he WAS the catalyst.

Hopefully Lee improves before next season but we will not be given the benefit of doubt next year and will probably not start off ranked in the top 10. Our QB spot will still be a ? to most next year until it is proven on the field that we have a CAPABLE starter. We have 2 regular season games left and still have a ? at the QB spot.

McCoy

Theoretically you could throw Sanchez in there.

Yes He chokes. He has the talent to do well, but he doesn't handle the pressure. If he can learn to concentrate on what he's trying to do, he'll be a good quarterback. Until then he, and we, will continue to have problems.

It has nothing at all to do with whether he's a good person. He simply is unable to concentrate on the playing field. Hell, for me, speech class at LSU was nearly tramatic. I think anyone can sympathize with him.

I'm Implying that there are MOST colege quarterbacks struggled early in their career. It takes game experience to improve with very few exceptions
