Then why did Jimbo only win 9 with a returning starting QB, top RB in the SEC, and a senior-laden front 7 that was forth in the nation in run defense
Why did he win the same number of games O did his first year, at a worse program? Or why did he beat O straight up in their first matchup?

I dont know Dukke...but why are you bustin up in here acting surprised as shite....we do this kind of thread every 6 weeks or so and youre usually right smack dab in the middle of it.

One guy had 13 start advantage on the other guy and those starts were playing against SEC defenses.

You don't think the job he did with Mond was impressive?
He was pretty good. Not all conference or anything.

This year's draft says that you're an idiot, yet again.

Ok here you go..... O in ZERO way can be compared to Miles.... Miles was great here but got stale and could NOT deliver because he was stubburn... It was real and obvious...
So Joe brings in O... Ok whatever... he has not come close [YET] to being the coach miles was when he was here..... FACT........FACT............
There is not much else to say... So why do we have A thread THIS LONG?????
Just to argue the same whole crap that has been argued for 3 years?????
I mean whats the point?????????

I dont know about this but you excel at rustling Rick's jimmies and that is pure gold.

Pretty easy to be able to bash Miles AND think that O isn’t a good coach, they’re not mutually exclusive whatsoever.
Posted on 5/2/19 at 8:04 pm to dukke v
Agree that there is, at this time, no comparing the two as Mr. Ed has won NOTHING.

Jesus Christ dude

Jimbo had loads of talent at A$M. shite, their defense was ranked second in rush yards when we played them and the offense was loaded with talent.

Brandon Harris had many more starts than either of them playing against SEC defenses and didn't come close to showing the improvement Mond did.
It sounds like you're inclined to believe that Mond would've made that improvement regardless of who was coaching him. You don't think Jimbo's earned the right to be credited with his improvement given how many QBs he's developed?

Wait, I'm all wrong. Mond had a 10-game advantage on Burrow heading into the 2018 season - yet their stats were almost identical (Burrow had a better TD/Int ratio).

Ahhh, now you're comparing Brandon Harris to Mond and Burrow. Classic.

Arbitrarily? Hell no. That's not how it works
Posted on 5/2/19 at 8:08 pm to The First Cut
I don't even know why Burrow was interjected into the conversation.
I'm talking about the improvement Mond made from one year to the next.

No, according to Damone, winning 9 games is wrecking shop.
Posted on 5/2/19 at 8:10 pm to Goldrush25
Because Burrow is a first-year starter with what is widely regarded as a lower ceiling than Mond yet their performances were almost the same (Burrow was slightly better). Does what "Jimbo has done with Mond" really seem all that impressive when put into context?
ETA: and Burrow played behind four new OL starters, in what the Rant considers an ancient offense
