5 loss division title..

In the ACC

How many divisional titles has O won in his career, regardless of conference?

ETA: I'll make it even easier. How many times has O even finished runner-up in his division in his career, regardless of conference?

We need to all come to an agreement about whether LSU's offenses sucked under Miles watch or not.

"Cause I'm sure I've seen posts from some of the folks in this thread claim that all offenses under Miles were trash and that last years offense under o was the best we've had in years.

And as far as offenses go, the 2016 and 2018 offenses were ranked higher nationally in total offense than the 2011 offense.

He's been in the SEC West for most of his career

shite, a PAC12 team won their division with a losing record.

I'm kind of looking forward to 2019 though, being a little optimistic and excited about this coming season, you know...like a fan does..and not spending all my energy like you finding things to cry and complain about regarding the program

It was definitely that single play and not LSU's offense taking its merry time to run two plays in 1:08 with only 1:45 on the clock.

It was fantastic clock management Score with no time on the clock

No wonder you hate the guy. You don't even understand WTF you're watching.

Now, if you want to gripe about the way the game was managed, you would point to the fact that Orgeron let Fournette talk him into playing when he clearly wasn't healthy.

It's nice to see that o was finally being treated the same way that Miles had been treated his entire time at LSU.

I guess I was wrong when I said there was a different set of standards for each coach.

Miles had some good ones, he also had some terrible ones.

He really struggled after Jimbo left to find someone that could work with QB's.

Regardless of offense Les usually had some really competitive teams. He seemed to lose control in 2014 though.

we were inside the 10 and trying to run clock, it's smart clock management.

That has nothing to do with what we're discussing, you only bring that up to try and draw a comparison between the two coaches in an attempt to argue that O deserves just as much time.

My take on this. Clemson was a middle of pack ACC team. Dabo BUILT Clemson. He turned them into a yearly championship contender with NFL talent. His leash was longer to win because the expectation to win 11/12 games was nonexistent. O came into the program with a legacy of NFL talent & NC wins. If O was to remotely go anywhere near 6-7 like Dabo did in his third year he’d be out the door no questions asked because the expectation is to win big at LSU. Dabo changed the course of that program. 10-4 the next year, 11-2 beat LSU in a bowl, then proceeded to go to 3 national championships & 2 major bowl games. He’s lost 4 games in the last 4 years. There’s a difference between being handed the keys & making the damn keys yourself.

Dabo not only recruits QBs but they produce. 4 of them. Boyd, Watson, Bryant, & now Lawerence. Any one of those guys you’d plug in for LSU, even Bryant. But he’s also had great hires.

After a time out. When the coaches should have had everyone on the same page.

Seems to me that Miles was grilled for those kind of player mistakes when he was the coach.

Afterall, everything that happens falls at the feet of the head coach. Be it good or bad.

Not really. He was almost fired year two. Boosters and board members wanted him gone, only the AD had faith in him.

SHows the fickle nature of people when they don't get the hire they want.

LSU had a stout defense and an inept offense. What was more important: time enough for the offense to be able to utilize it's full playbook or not leaving enough time for the UF offense to possibly score with limited time? Actually, don't answer that, you aren't intellectually honest enough to do it correctly. There's a reason the announcers were ripping on LSU in the moment for letting so much clock bleed before even having a first and goal.

Yeah, you don't care about the program, you just want the staff to get bashed simply because your idol did

That's pathetic.

Just so you know, the most vocal "Miles Haters" are on your team right now as Orgeron haters.

LSU was on the 18 yard line with a first and ten with the clock stopped at 1:53.

They ran their first and ten play at 1:45, gaining 5 yards to the 13.

The play was blown dead at 1:40 and LSU didn't run another play until 1:05.

LSU got inside the 10 yard line with a first down at :59

They then inexplicably didn't run a play until :37.

In 1:16, LSU picked up a whopping 12 yards

For an offense as bad as LSU's was, it was horrendously bad to slow down and limit themselves in that situation, as recognized by the announcers. It was terrible coaching.
