The #18 jersey tradition hadn't started yet when Hester was assigned to wear that number.

Didn't Mauck pass it on to Hester?

I think Lee or Jefferson are both good choices. Also Ryan Baker.

Mauck passed it along to Hester, to Dickson, and now to Murphy.

this #18 is so worn out. It was a fabricated tradition that only began with Hester and Dickson.

im pretty sure the media made it a story...If the players think it's a cool thing to do, then let them do it...the #18 thing isnt about you or the fans, its a bonding thing for the team, so if you dont care about, dont post in the damn thread.

Mauck did not pass it along to Hester. Hester was a Freshman in 2004. Mauck left after the 2003 season, so he wouldn't have played with Hester to know to give it to him. The number was simply assigned to Hester since his high school number of #13 was not available.

Not going to be JL or JJ since they haven't consistently played well and the jersey was passed to a player with great leaderships skills on and off the field along with a great personality and love for the team so Murphy definitely applies here.

So JJ and JL cant wear it because they haven't consistently played well but Dickson and Murphy can wear it. OK

After Mauck decided not to come back for his final year of eligibility, he told a trainer to make sure that #18 is assigned to someone with "the heart of a tiger" and that is how the tradition started

Besides being white, what obstacles exactly did Hester and Dickson overcome?

Isnt that enough?

Murphy.

I hope he finishes a graduate degree with the 6th paid year.
MBA?

What's he doing?

Its his number, if he gets the medical year.

Is this documented or are you just making this up on the fly? I find it unlikely that the LSU staff would know Hester had the "heart of a Tiger" prior to him playing one second of college football. Don't get me wrong, I like the new tradition, but the tradition looks to have started with Hester

Jefferson? I admit his play has improved, but I doubt his attitude has improved with it.

Why did your mom keep you as a fetus? Perhaps an abortion would have been a better choice since you have not made any good plays either, douche.

He's actually #1 which speaks to how subpar our TE production has been historically.
