quote:
It was 52-48% Alabama fans. That's exactly what it was.
It was split almost even, but there were more Bama fans in the LSU sections than there were LSU fans in the Bama sections.
The Alabama half was solid red. The LSU half had red and pom poms throughout it.
probably right

Yea I agree with that more than my own claim of 55/45. 52/48 bama is probably more accurate

I sat in SEC 141 last night. The dome was in Bama's favor for sure. 55-45, 51-49, whatever...We had "fans" sellout, and last night I had an epiphany. They have fans in every sense of where the word comes from "fanatics." As much as it pains me to say it, we don't have that in the numbers that they do. We just don't...and this is coming from someone who has been going to home games since '78.
Alabama is a nation of rabid maniacs who have been spending money on their program for a looong time. We have fallen into the category of having great student support for really big games, plus fannies-come-lately with money who want to be seen on Saturdays for the most part.
Yeah, I'm bitter about last night for a lot of reasons. We will NEVER have another opportunity to beat Alabama again for a national championship in football, unless a playoff is put in place and it happens. Otherwise, we will have to go the rest of our lives hearing about this. And yes, I'm using "we" because I am one of the people who has been there through thick and thin and continues to go.
Sorry for the mini-hijack...end rant. TL/DR:CSB

it was 50/50 at best. bama may have had more fans. their fans were louder from the beginning and their team shut the fans up the rest of the game

Too many LSU ticket holders (not fans) thought making $1200 at any cost on a ticket was more important than supporting the Tigers. I paid 1200 to be there and would not have sold my ticket for anything. Bama fans share my mentality. Many LSU people are fair weather fans. They have a corporate mentality. bama fans don't.

I'd like to thank the douche bag that sold two tickets next to me in section 602 to two redneck GUMPS. Made my night totally miserable. Whoever you are, I owe you one.

Lack of fans didn't produce a stupid game plan !
