This is such BS it's not even funny. Mason Katz looked a little league 1st baseman. He never left the bag, instead he stretched, just letting the throw go. HE SHOULD know better than that. Blaming that on Jones is crap
No doubt. It was full of fail

I played a lot of SS in my life and you could say that about every play a SS has to make with a runner at second moving to third. NO EXCUSE....
Beer league softball doesn't count. I am sure if you ask him (since you are such good friends and all) he would say he should have had it - just as anyone worth their salt would.
That does not change the fact that is was not as easy as you are saying and the loss does not hang on that one play.
If you have truly played competitive short stop at any decent level you would not be saying the screen by the runner should be a non-issue.
It happens, it did happen.

Nothing like a poster who tries to use a "theory" as fact in an argument you must be a Democrat. I am not going to defend my baseball career because I know what I did and I DO know the SS position.
I am no way saying I was as talented or even close to as talented as Bregman that still does not mean I do not know fundamentals about playing SS at this level.
The ball was a routine, fairly hard hit, ground ball that he didn't charge and played it off to the side which are both terrible fundamentals when fielding from SS at a ball hit right at you. The runner did not "shield" him any more than any other time a runner is on second moving to third you are totally wrong on your assessment. He should have charged the ball and picked it up before the second bounce and made a throw to first. Even Hershiser said this after the play. It was an easy play that he has made many times this year. You acting like the ball was in the holes somewhere and he was lucky to even get to it. Like I said making errors is part of the game and it happens but knowing the situation he should have kept the ball in front of him for you to think otherwise tells me all I need to know.
