He is a man that has not predicted a LSU loss in 8 yrs. The football team should always win no matter who they are playing.

If the New England Patriots were playing the tigers, he would have the tigers by 6.5 pnts, and give you his reasoning why.

All that being said, HE'S GREAT!!!

You are really reaching here... If you ask for money you are begging. A homeless man asks for change and we call him a beggar.

Asking for donations to help him with his site is not a beggar IMO.

NOT ACCURATE! He runs a donation link for about 3 months. Jan 1 through end-of-month national signing day. Don't try to portray him as some kind of leech. Get your drawers out of a wad

He's a huge tiger fan, with a few inside connections. He doesn't beg for money, he asks for donations, and only b/c he does a lot of leg work, like going to the practices, and reporting from the Bash.....ect. People seem to bash him b/c there are a few typo's here and there, and he gets the first names wrong on players sometimes. But no one on this board has ever proved (proved not claimed)themselves perfect.

I read his site every day, and find some the info intresting.

Guys, I could not help responding to this as well. I met DD at the recruiting bash a few years ago. To those who said it is a nice quick update for all of us living out of state I agree. And I do start off every morning with it, and do contribute once a year. I belive he is old school and can appreciate that, much like my grandfather who has replayed with me the Billy Cannon run for as many times as I can remember. I do believe his recaps, interviews, and updates take a fair amount of his time and see no problem with the donation process. Long live LSU Athletics, Tiger Nation and Dandy Don!

As per dictionary.com:

beg - to ask for charity

What am I missing here? He provides a free service and asks for charitable donations to fund his research, much like St. Jude Hospital.
St. Jude's is not begging, because they are not asking for the charity; they are providing it. They also ask others to support their efforts to provide that charity by being charitable themselves. In your example, the only ones whose actions could even theoretically fit the definition of "beg" would be the patients at St. Jude's (if they actually asked for the treatment).

Don does not ask people for charity. He has a hobby that takes significant time and expense to maintain and also benefits lots of people. He asks some of those people to chip in to defray the costs. That is no more him "begging" than you would be "begging" if you took a bunch of buddies fishing in your boat and asked them if they wanted to chip in for gas money.

Dandy runs a website that provides information on LSU sports. He doesn't claim to be perfect or even to have flawless "inside info". He posts what he hears, and he hears more than most people do. And his information and writing skills are at least as high quality as most of what passes for journalism from so-called "real sportswriters".

Exactly.

If you don't like Dandy, don't dial him up. He's right more often than he's wrong and much, much better informed than any of the douche bags on this rant.

I have been living in Alabama for 16 years. I found DD 12 years ago when there was not much LSU stuff on the web. Now that there are multiple LSU sites I still read his page every day. Sure he misses some things but so does ESPN and rivals and other pay sites. Thanks Dandy one for all you do and .

DandyDon is the best LSU fan there is, with good comments on every sport and specific games on his website, dandydon.com , does not hold back criticism, and is well-informed about issues behind the scene.. He's sometimes wrong and too opinionated at times, but who isn't. Every post on this rant that degrades him, has not been to his website to see his love for the Tigers. DandyDon is #1.

Don is a true LSU fan and lives and dies with that university. His effort should be applauded. Coffee and double D are mouning rituals.
