I for one am done until he is gone.
None - Academic or Athletic.
As a LSU alum, Was one the fence about the academic side. However, I think if enough people feel this way it will reach F.King.

I am 2/3rds of the way there. My only contribution to LSU is with the LSU foundation. King has been a terrible LSU president. I still don't like this idea of consolidating the head man for LSU-Baton Rouge as the head man for the entire system. The LSU system is pretty big as it relates to the Louisiana population, and I think the new consolidated role as led to the LSU president to lose focus and perspective of the mothership, LSU-Baton Rouge. The academic side is slipping and actually worse than what the alumni might think. The last three U.S News rankings reflect that. And with King allowing such a reckless hire to be pushed through along with the terrible contract clauses it automatically makes me question his judgement of character and his judgement on strategic decisions. King has flopped big time with the O hire combined with the decline on the academic side proves to me he is not a fit for the LSU President role. The LSU BOS now seems to be corrupted once again as well. They had a good run and anyone that knows Louisiana politics knew it was a matter of time before Louisiana politics found it's way back on the LSU campus and it's athletic department.

You needed to start two threads for this?

Sheek,
Is Alexander really doing that bad outside of some of the AD issues? LSU just had a Nobel prize winner. Admittedly , he plays the woe is us card but what University official doesn't.
I was in the same room as him for SPIN this past spring and he does handle a podium like a pro and comes across very well.
I think when times were better for the state economically, I think the corruption was just less noticeable, It was always there, IMO. I also think the current governor emboldens some of the left to return to some of the old ways but I might be viewing that through my conservative colored glassed
Some may say this is more reflective of the states economic struggles, I am not convinced either way yet. Wasn't King the guy in charge when we initially climbed up into the top half? I honestly can't recall.
Fresh blood wouldn't be bad, per se, but I am not convinced that Alexander is doing a terrible job as a whole nor am I convinced he is doing a wonderful job.
ETA: found some rankings and it looks like we are currently headed in the wrong direction
Rankings from 2014-15 academic year (far left) back to 2011-11 (far right)
129 135 134 128 124
